  • It's ok

As reviewed by R on 3/17/2010

I have had this DVD for about a month and I find it helpful, but the instructor moves VERY fast for a beginning guitar player. I have to stop the DVD about 100 times in order to get what he does in 5 minutes. In the first 20 minutes of this video, I was expected to tune a guitar by ear and know about 10 cords...it was a little overwhelming, but by pausing it often I could understand it well. The website that goes with it is very helpful!

  • So far, so good!

As reviewed by Terry Bowmaster on 7/13/2011

When I opened the DVD case, I found two appartently identical DVD's. I thought, "sweet", I have one for each location. I started the first DVD and found that it stuck, skipped, and was generally unusable. The second one worked just fine. So you don't always get what you want, you get what you need! I've only completed the first lesson, but so far, so good! The instructor does move fast, so I have been practicing first chords and strumming before going on to lesson two. But I have learned more practical techniques in that one lesson than six one-on-one lessons with a teacher.
