The Hohner Essential Plus parlor guitar is built using a revolutionary technique Hohner calls Frequency Matching. Hohner's technicians use a form of tap tuning to determine the resonant frequencies of the woods and then match the solid Sitka spruce tops with similarly resonant mahogany backs. Combining this process with a micro thin finish produced an acoustic guitar with a powerful, rich singing tone that makes even the small bodied parlor sound huge.

The Hohner Essential Plus parlor guitar is also equipped with the Earvana Compensated Tuning System. This special nut and bridge assures that these guitars play with dramatically improved intonation, up and down the length of the neck making them a pleasure to play. Built on a parlor platform, the body offers a vintage design in a small but powerful package. Parlor guitars yield a surprising amount of volume and punch for its small-bodied size, and are ideal for intimate settings and mellow jazz or fingerstyle progressions. It starts with a Solid sitka top for a clear, balanced tone, with a subtle brightness. The Mahogany body adds projection to the instrument, and the rosewood fretboard adds lasting sustain. The 25-1/2" scale and 1-3/4" nut width adds comfort to intricate finger movements. Featuring chrome die-cast tuners, chrome hardware, and a satin natural finish, this Hohner parlor guitar will be a welcome addition to your musical collection, at a price that won't break the bank.

All Hohner Essential guitars go through a 12-point inspection process at Hohner's US facility to make sure every guitar is set up to sound and play great.

Hohner Essential Parlor Guitar

Comments about Hohner Essential Plus Parlor Acoustic Guitar:

Received my new Hohner Parlor Guitar one week ago. Very satisfied with the overall quality of the instrument. The guitar has great tone in both bass and treble as well as good balance. It responds very well across the entire neck. Intonation is perfect across the neck. Action is also very acceptable. This guitar is light in weight and projects very well. It sounds as good and better than guitars at four or five times the cost. Highly recommended.

Comments about Hohner Essential Plus Parlor Acoustic Guitar:

I ordered one of these after looking a the Hohner site an was very hopeful and excited. GC sent my order quickly and it arrived in 3 days. (Thanks GC). The guitar was plain, but pretty, looks very nice. However, I am sorry to say the quality of sound of the instrument I recieved was very poor. In fact I cannot recall a more dull lifeless sound from any guitar I have tried recently. In additon, the tuners are very poor quality. In fact I could turn the D string tuner key around 360 degrees at some spots before the barrel engaged. The neck is very thin and fast, and the fretboard is has a nice curve however the fret ends on many spots protruded and were sharp and uncomfortable. All the wood was very dry. I changed the strings in hopes the sound might improve but it was hopeless. On top of that I discovered all the retaining nuts on the tuners were loose. I took the guitar to a Guitar Center and the people there were very helpful. I exchanged the instrument for another brand. I was very dissapointed and actually dissapointed for the Hohner company. I urge them to improve their quality control.

Delivers Pretty Much As Promised

Comments about Hohner Essential Plus Parlor Acoustic Guitar:

Have had this guitar for about a week, and it's pretty accurate to how it's described by Hohner. Very nicely executed for such an inexpensive instrument. Swapped out the saddle (which was a very cheap piece) for bone and that fattened up the tone a bit. Tuning machines are barely adequate and will probably be seitched out too. But basically, kudos to Hohner. there are not many parlors to choose from in this price range, esp with full scale length and spruce top, and this is definitely a "real" enough guitar to be the "play my wife to sleep late-nite bedroom guitar" that I was looking for.

Bang for the buck? You better beleive it.

Comments about Hohner Essential Plus Parlor Acoustic Guitar:

I have had my Hohner Parlor Essential for about 4 months now. I have room to keep 2 guitars out and this one hasn't seen it's case for more than a few days in all that time. The width of the neck at the nut is not the 1-3/4" as advertised but measures about 1.7" - very similar to a Seagull. This is a nice trade off as there is a little extra room for finger picking over the 1-11/16" necks but it is still quite comfortable for bar chords. As for the sound, this guitar holds its own against the little Martin and the Baby Taylor easily and it does not pale significantly when squared off against my Guild A-25 (all solid small body). It is small, comfortable, plays easily, and sounds great... and all at under 3 bills. Your not gonna put her up against a Larrivee parlor but you won't break the bank either. Great little guitar.
