The Hohner Essential EL-SD PLUS Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar represents a new area of innovation with Hohner guitars. These guitars are built utilizing a revolutionary technique Hohner calls Frequency Matching. Hohners technicians utilize a form of tap tuning to determine the resonant frequencies of the woods and then match the solid Sitka spruce tops with similarly resonant mahogany backs. Combining this process with a micro thin finish produced a powerful, rich singing tone that is reproduced brilliantly through the Fishman Isys+ Preamp with built in chromatic tuner.
The Essential Dreadnought Cutaway is also NVI Equipped. This special nut and bridge assures that these guitars play with dramatically improved intonation, up and down the length of the neck making them a pleasure to play.
All Hohner Essential guitars go through a 12 point inspection process at Hohners US facility to make sure every guitar is set up to sound and play great.

Comments about Hohner Essential EL-SD PLUS Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
Great sound. Very bright and deep. Guitar is loud acoustically. Fishman Preamp is great and tuner works as intended. The guitar is light and has a very beautiful satin finish. The color of the back is a little darker than what is shown in the picture but is still very beautiful. However, I had to return it. Now, the things that are not said in the description. The tuners, saddle and nut are black, which some people, like me, don't like. However the description describes the tuners as chrome. The preamp does not have the mid control as described.. only bass, treble and volume. The nut width is exactly 1 22/32". No, its not 1 11/16" nor 1 10/16"... its exactly a point between the two. The stock action was very high and the saddle was very low, so the only way to adjust the action was adjusting the trussrod. I did it but there was no way that the action lowered as I needed. A defect? I don't know, but there was no way to adjust the neck. Despite these, the sound of the guitar, the overall construction and the fact that the black tuners is a matter of taste, I can rate this guitar five stars for its price, looks, the preamp sound and the unplugged fine sound.
