Overview

Hohner has reissued the Double Puck Harmonica, a mouth harp popular in the 1920s for its two back-to-back petite size harmonicas. The two conjoined 10-hole harmonicas are in the popular key combination of C and G and offer full diatonic sound. The Double Puck Harmonica features genuine gold-plated stainless steel covers and a plastic body, with 40 total reeds and an attractive red oval cardboard display case. Small enough to tuck discreetly into a shirt pocket, yet with two complete diatonic scales.

The harmonica is nowadays popular in almost every music style, and Hohner, the world's biggest manufacturer of quality harmonicas, is proud to be a supplier of high quality instruments for exactly 150 years now.

Bummer

By WAYNE MARET

Comments about Hohner Double Puck Harmonica:

I was so excited about this little baby. But I must have gotten a dud. It was weak on the low end draw, which I could live with, and it took a bit to get used to the compact size which is expected. But after a few hours of playing it became hopelessly out of tune. It is now just a shiny piece of gold plated garbage. I'm so disappointed, I was bragging to my friends about it but by the time we got to jammin' it was toast and I ate crow.

Comments about Hohner Double Puck Harmonica:

This is a small harmonica (about 3/4 size) from a different era, before amplified music was the norm. It is small, and has all reeds, and will not be as loud as a Marine Band or other full size.
Because the Double Puck is small, to play this well, you must have good embouchure and your technique must be correct. I had to gap mine, but very easy to do because the covers slide to the sides. After that, it sounded great and played well.
It is perfect to throw on your pocket and practice with. With C on one side and G on the other, it is versatile for its small size. I play in the high country, and this is perfect for the trail.
