Comments about Hohner 7584 Super 64X Chromatic Harmonica:

I am a professional musician but not on harmonica. I perform on various keyboard instruments...electric and pipe organ, synthesizer, acoustic and MIDI accordion (my favorite). I bought this about 16 years ago from Guitar Center mostly for playing for myself. I have had no issues with broken reeds and all the reeds sound fine without issues. Mine was made in Germany...not sure if they are still made there though. It has a good feel in the hand and I like the lip plate and the gold plating on the lip plate and slide. I payed considerably less than the going rate today and if I were doing it again I would probably consider some of the competition such as Suzuki or Seibold...probably lean towards Seibold.
Pros...looks good and feels good in the hand. Sound is good to my ear but I am not a hard core harp player. No broken reeds or issues although I always warm it up and don't blow really hard which would stress the brass reeds.
Cons...brass reeds....some of the competition uses steel or other materials in the reeds which MAY be more durable. Biggest issue on mine was that it wasn't tuned to concert pitch...instead it was tuned A=445 which is sharp. Some may like that as a sharp tuned instrument cuts through other competing instruments but does cause issues in symphonic music. Luckily I don't use my harp for that purpose or it would be a major disappointment.
