Hohner 595BL Blue Midnight Harmonica (110868551)
Availability:

A blues harp that lives up to its look and name offering powerful dynamics and evocative note-bending.

The 595BL Blue Midnight 10-hole, hand-tuned diatonic harmonica gets its name from the highly-influential instrumental workout by blues harp genious Little Walter Jacobs. Crafted to replicate those legendary bends and warbles, the Blue Midnight harp is set apart by an evocative blue plastic comb made from a durable material that will never swell, offering a comfortable mouthpiece for ease of playing. The stainless steel cover plates, with wide open back ends and closed side vents similar to the iconic Blues Harp covers, allow for maximum volume and a tone that can alternate between sweet and ornery. Assembled with two single screws, the cover plates are easily removable for customization of reed gapping and setup. The custom "Chicago-style" tuning from Hohner's vaults allows for an uncompromised blend of single-note runs, octaves, and chords that make up the essential vocabulary for the serious harp player.

Hohner 595BL Blue Midnight Harmonica Features:

  • 10-hole diatonic
    Custom "Chicago-style" tuning
    Blue plastic comb
    Stainless steel cover plates

  • Solid Piece

As reviewed by waylon webster on 1/30/2013

I bought this for the supposedly different sound. I cannot tell the difference from many other blues harps. It is however an awesome harp. It has a nice feel and weight to it and I am buying more of these to replace my older harps.

  • Durability, Volume, Value!

As reviewed by Elijah Peters on 1/29/2013

Easily the best value harp for the discerning blues player. Robust and well-rounded tone. Not quite as air tight as the marine band, but with equal response and for half the price there's no doubt it's worth every penny. It needs a little breaking in to really reach full bending capability (or so was the case with mine), but the highs on this thing are impeccable. Quite the head turner and it can take a good beating too. Man's best friend and yet another quality Hohner product.

  • Great if you want a Blues Harp with a Plastic comb

As reviewed by Jake Robinson on 8/26/2011

Sounds identical pretty much to a Blues Harp. It does have a plastic blue comb that looks awesome. I have several Blues Harps and Pro Harps, I won't buy anymore because I like the Blue Midnight over both of them. The Blue MIdnight plays really well and is part of the MS series, so it's easy to replace the reed plates when they are dead. I've bought 3 and each one has been quality. I recommend this to anyone.
