The harmonica equivalent of a 12-string guitar!

This is a harmonica with octave tuning (the upper row of 20 holes is tuned one octave below the lower row of 20). When the 2 rows are played at the same time this creates an effect of 2 harmonicas simultaneously playing the same melody. This enables a single player to achieve a stronger, full-bodied sound not possible while playing a standard diatonic.Echo harmonicas offer comfortable curved mouthpieces with traditional wood combs. The chrome-plated covers have turned-in ends for extra style and sound. Key of C.

  • Physically long, pure sound, great quality

As reviewed by Jake Robinson on 12/28/2010

Not like the normal diatonics that I play at all. The draw notes on this harp do not bend easily and the holes are very small, but this harmonica was built for a different purpose. You can play big, fat chords in 2 octaves at the same time. With a little practice it isn't hard to pick out a hole for single note playing. The length of this harp is pretty staggering, but it isn't a problem due to the curved design. The sound is unbelievable when you play in both octaves at once, you can make it sound like an accordian or an organ very easily. While not billed as a beginners harp, it is so easy to play that a beginner can't help but sound good. The construction is of the highest quality, I've had mine for years and it still sounds like it did out of the box. Speaking of the box...the only drawback to this harmonica is the cheap box that it is shipped in. It's made of cardboard and cheap/thin plastic and will be completely destroyed if you carry it or do anything other than leave it sitting on the shelf. Other that this small issue, this harp gets all five stars.
