At first I had a hard time getting it to tune, but after the string stretched, (about 15 min. of playing) it's working great. I use it on stage all the time on my telecaster and love it. Here's a tip; Tune your E string and stretch it out; then when you drop to D, if its flat or sharp, flip it back to E before adjusting your fine tuner. You wont be able to hear the adjustment, just keep flipping it back till it's on.
I bought one of these and can't get the thing to stay in tune, every time I finally set the tuning up right I'll flip it up and down a few times as the instructions say to do, it managed to stay in tune until around the fourth or fifth flip and then beings to fall dramatically. Don't waist your money or drill holes into your headstock because this thing is worthless.
Most people do not realize how many professional players use these. I use them on my telecasters and could not be happier. They are easy to dial in and stay in tune thanks to the simplicity of the design. Drop D tuning adds a lot of depth to your tone and with this you dont have to worry about re-tuning for the next song. Its just a lot of fun to play with. Also, Hipshot makes a great product. If you get one, make sure you get the Hipshot.
