Good price, quick shipping, simple easy to follow bolt on instruction. PROS: Easy to install, looks like original tuners, most importantly STAYS IN TUNE when flipping between D and E tunings! CONS: Does not have tapered tuning peg, hipshot screws are slightly shorter and slightly fatter Overall, I would definatly buy again, only rated 4 star because of non-tapered tuning peg
I ordered the Hipshot BT 7 For my Vintage Modified Squire Jazz Bass. The tuning key was an almost identical replacement. Installation took less than 10 minutes and if you go to Hipshots web site, they even have an installation video. The only downside and it's minor, is getting the fine tuning down for the drop "D." Keep a tuner handy!!!! All in all, a terrific value and something that most 4 string bass players should not be without!!
I needed a new tuning key for my bass so I decided to go with this handy little thing. Fairly easy to install on my Fender jazz. It was a little difficult to get it tuned so it drops to a D and goes back to E but once it was set up it works great. Cosmetically you can't even tell it's a different key from the others. Overall good product.
