If you have ever wanted to drop down to D but didnt want to mess w/ 5 string basses- the Hipshot D extender is exactly what you need. They are easy to install and even easier to use. Sure- you might need an adjustment period playing w/ the low E string dropped to D, but its not as difficult as you might think. I use the Hipshpt Extender on all my Basses and I go back and forth between E & D tunings- its a breeze. And you will do well to find a better deal that Guitar center- you'll get it cheap and FAST! Highly recommended- it even raises the resale value of your axe!!
A great addition to your bass to get that low D or C. It installed in just a few minutes to my Geddy Lee Jazz Bass without any drilling. You can see the quality of the tuner. I like that it has a higher gear ratio than the original tuner. I might end up swaping the other 3 for Hipshot tuners.
