Bought this a month ago. Installation was aggravating. That and the price gave it 4 stars instead of 5. Had to omit the nylon washer so there'd be enough thread for the nut to grab. Was a little concerned that the string might be too sloppy on a short scale,(Fender Mustang) but it's workable. I love being able to switch between E and drop D !!!
Hello, I have a Fender Jaguar (J like) and am quite disappointed that this did not fit. The round tuning cylinder is smaller then my existing ones. With that said I am still using it. While I am tuning as per instruction, the play in the loose cylinder makes it difficult to keep in tune. On a separate issue the HipShot product threaded drop tune bolt does not touch the nut head for tuning the drop key. I had to add a nut to the threaded bolt for it to stop on the head of the other nut so I can tune it. I will need to add some locktite to that nut so it does not move around. All in all it is a cool product, the first few times installing it took a bit to get the tension correct that would allow the unit to swivel but not fall off completely. I feel this product needs to go back to the design stage.
