The Hercules DJ Console MK4 is a dual-deck, all-in-one mixing station that's built for mobile computer DJs with its compact, lightweight design and an included transport cover and shoulder strap. The Hercules DJ mixer features a 2-deck controller for mixing audio tracks, plus four stereo outputs: 2 for including turntables, MP3, or CD players in your mix and 2 for playing the mix for your audience while previewing the next track.
Some of the cool controls found on the Hercules DJ Mixing Console MK4 are its 2 jog wheel for navigating within tracks, a cross fader and 2 volume faders for mixing 2 tracks, 2 pitch encoder knobs for changing the music's speed, and 6 EQ potentiometers.
The Hercules MK4 DJ mixer has a host of user-friendly features such as: VirtualDJ DJC Edition software for Windows or Mac (check specifications) that analyzes the audio and suggests a cue point; pitch encoder knobs and sync buttons that synchronize tracks; auto-looping on 1, 2, 4, or 8 beats; and the ability to add effects to customize the music, record your mixes as audio files, and give your DJ console killer looks by applying the included graphic skin under the controller's transparent plate.

This controller gets the job done. I have had this controller close to a year, and it has worked every time i use it. Since it comes with the Virtual DJ software, and because it works on both 32 or 64 bit Window computers, it is great because there is no need of upgrading any of your equipment. Which means even you can even upgrade your computer, and you don't have to buy a new controller for it. Its' also a great deal because it comes with a built in sound card. All the buttons on the controller are just the ones you need for the job. The jog wheels are very sturdy and very easy to maneuver, as well for all the crossfaders and other buttons. There are enough ports and different types of ports in the back to use and all are just the ones you need. However, there are a few problems. It's very small and light, so it feels if you drop it or if a heavy object were to fall on it, it might not survive. Also, the lack of top space makes it hard to activate the right buttons. You might activate more than one button sometimes. You sometimes hit the jog wheels when you use the crossfader making your music stop for a second, which is incredibly annoyoing. Some of the buttons don't work when you want them too, and sometimes your finding yourself pushing the same button 2 or 3 times to activate it. Your also got to play around with the latency in the program you install with it, if you don't your music sounds like its scratched, caused by a delay in the soundcard of the MK4. Which can sometimes be a hastle trying to find how many miliseconds you have to move the delay. But once you nailed it, your music sounds great. However, ignoring these small details, overall if you want to buy a simple controller that is small and portable to carry around, and has everything you possibly need to mix your music, the MK4 is great for the job.
The Hercules MK4 is a relatively well put-together product. Though made almost entirely of plastic, every part of it seems to be incredibly durable. So much so, in fact, that I almost regret the fact that I got the warranty for it. I doubt that I will be needing it The built-in sound card is really solid, and I've really had no problems with it. The bundled software, virtual DJ, is pretty good for what it is, but the presets on the controller for VDJ are quite frustrating. I use this controller with Traktor pro, the 20 extra minutes of installing the mapping are well worth all of the effort. If you're willing to mess with some mappings, or if you really aren't interested in doing anything all that elaborate, then this controller is great. I do wish that there were just a few more buttons on here, for hotcues, and whatnot, but otherwise, it's really solid.
Dont let its small size fool you. it is incredible. and you dont have to buy a soundcard!!
I bought this console two and a half weeks ago, I am still amazed at its proficiency and have yet to discover its full potential. Navigation is easy, cross fader and volume fader is very responsive, knobs are easy to turn for any adjustment, jog wheels are nice and responsive, virtual dj software was easy to install. Headphone cuing and audio out plug ins are a big help if you want to put out your music. Before I even committed to buying a mixer I did a lot of research and shopped around for prices, some vendors don't even want to help you, Guitar Center's staff was very helpful and made my decision easier to make.
Hello my friends This product is amazing it acts as a midi controller and much more it opens doors to many options first of all it comes preloaded with Virtual DJ and also a USB cable and a carrying strap for on the go the amazing thing is it acts as a mixer for your external Turntables just pop in a Virtual Vinyl or a Virtual CD and it works you can backspin you can do whatever you feel so it is sort of a interface for your turntables I love this Hercules DJ console mostly because its portable thrust me for many of you heavy lifter its a life saver good bless this gift from Guitar Center and remember mix wisely, Peace from DJ Avenger
picked up this new little controller at guitarcenter and i am very happy with the results. the controls clump up a little too close but besides that, this tihng is great. easy to use and navigate through controls once you get used to it.i like how it comes with virtual dj, but i am currently using this thing with traktor pro 1.2.6. i downloaded a mapping from the hercuels website and followed instructions to set it up with traktor, and now it works liek a charm. no lag or delay. and looks nice too. BUT when i put the plate under the cover, when i screwed it all abck in, the clear plating sorta sticks up instead of staying flat. haha well. i am very satisfied with this, and i would suggest this to anyone learning or pro.
This is the controller I've been waiting for. I own the Hercules MKI and MKII as well as other brands. I bought an RMX soon as it came out and immediately returned it, for many reasons. The 24bit audio sounds amazing and rivals my permanent installation PC's card which alone cost more than the MK4. I've checked out many high priced controllers and for most situations actually prefer the MK4. Do not let the "Mobile DJ" labelling and low price mislead you. The MK4 is a great little versatile controller...size, weight, feel, controls, layout.
