The Hercules DS590B Double Bass Stand offers a unique design that provides easy access to both the instrument and bow. The stand is sturdy with two locking pins, and strong construction makes it great for both display or on stage purposes. There is no need to worry about the DS90B damaging the finish of your prized bass, it features soft Specially Formulated Foam (SFF) at all possible contact points. An arm on the back of the stand extends for a bow and the stand sits high enough to allow the endpin to stay extended a few inches.

I bought this for my sons upright bass . I had already purchased the gig bag (great purchase also!) The stand holds the bass IN THE BAG !!!!! Love it ! I was so worried that it wouldn't be what I expected, but it has exceeded my expectations . Now the bass is no longer covered by a sheet and standing on a pillow .
I already have 6 of the wood wall mount hangers by Hercules, so I knew the quality of manufacturing and trusted the name. Ordered this stand for my upright as soon as it came back in stock after Christmas. When it arrived a week later, opened the box and it immediately opened and locked in place without any effort. It is small enough that I could easily bring it to a gig, but it will spend most of it's time in my music room. It holds the upright nicely and looks great showing it off next to my wall of guitars. 100 times better than having it leaning over on the arm of a chair. My only worry is that the stabilizing bars that come out to each side may not be long enough to catch the whole stand if it starts to tip (but then I am on carpet and do have a 1 year old that likes to try and slap the fingerboard like daddy does). I will be fixing that by hanging a 7th guitar hanger and using a loop of cable around the neck so he can't pull the whole stand over in any direction. So, my only suggestion would be for Hercules to add a neck brace that slides up into place (easy enough to work around, I just have to be smarter than the metal the stand is made of).
My bass is worth at least 6 months income to me. I don't want to have to pay half that much to get it put back together (again). If it is going to be on a stand, this is the one to put it on. It is not the smallest stand to carry but it folds very flat and is easy to transport and set up. My stand is the envy of any other players that see it.
