Comments about Hercules DJ DJ Console RMX2:
This would be a perfect controller if it were not for an issue with the mic gain. I use virtual DJ, it is as if the GAIN is turned all the way up because I have hiss in the background and if you talk the output is very loud.. However, the volume knob for the mic is turned all the way down on the console as well as the virtual DJ screen (so it's not a virtual DJ issue. I also tried it with other programs, including the included DJuced and it still didn't work.) If i turn it up just a little bit I get instant feedback because the gain is so jacked up. This should not happen when the knob turned all the way down! The only work around was to route the mic through the record and map a different button. I used the "Vinyl" since I don't really use it playing weddings and parties. Only problem is, you then get really bad delay (almost a full second.) You also don't get volume ducking with that work around. To keep the concole, I would have had to use a secondary mixer, which is what I wanted to avoid in the first place when I got something with multiple inputs, it's own mic input (XLR BTW) and above all else, XLR outputs. So many mixers use RCA outputs and need a mixer or RCA to XLR converter...so if I need to use those, why pay more for the Hercules? So I took it back, got a Pioneer DDJ-SB and will use a rack mixer instead. Now that I made the change, I prefer the Pioneer. They put out mapping for Virtual DJ, and many of the functions are routed through the controller and not the software...as it should be! So, there you have it...until they fix this issue, do not buy the hercules!
