This controller gets the job done. I have had this controller close to a year, and it has worked every time i use it. Since it comes with the Virtual DJ software, and because it works on both 32 or 64 bit Window computers, it is great because there is no need of upgrading any of your equipment. Which means even you can even upgrade your computer, and you don't have to buy a new controller for it. Its' also a great deal because it comes with a built in sound card. All the buttons on the controller are just the ones you need for the job. The jog wheels are very sturdy and very easy to maneuver, as well for all the crossfaders and other buttons. There are enough ports and different types of ports in the back to use and all are just the ones you need. However, there are a few problems. It's very small and light, so it feels if you drop it or if a heavy object were to fall on it, it might not survive. Also, the lack of top space makes it hard to activate the right buttons. You might activate more than one button sometimes. You sometimes hit the jog wheels when you use the crossfader making your music stop for a second, which is incredibly annoyoing. Some of the buttons don't work when you want them too, and sometimes your finding yourself pushing the same button 2 or 3 times to activate it. Your also got to play around with the latency in the program you install with it, if you don't your music sounds like its scratched, caused by a delay in the soundcard of the MK4. Which can sometimes be a hastle trying to find how many miliseconds you have to move the delay. But once you nailed it, your music sounds great. However, ignoring these small details, overall if you want to buy a simple controller that is small and portable to carry around, and has everything you possibly need to mix your music, the MK4 is great for the job.
Hello my friends This product is amazing it acts as a midi controller and much more it opens doors to many options first of all it comes preloaded with Virtual DJ and also a USB cable and a carrying strap for on the go the amazing thing is it acts as a mixer for your external Turntables just pop in a Virtual Vinyl or a Virtual CD and it works you can backspin you can do whatever you feel so it is sort of a interface for your turntables I love this Hercules DJ console mostly because its portable thrust me for many of you heavy lifter its a life saver good bless this gift from Guitar Center and remember mix wisely, Peace from DJ Avenger
picked up this new little controller at guitarcenter and i am very happy with the results. the controls clump up a little too close but besides that, this tihng is great. easy to use and navigate through controls once you get used to it.i like how it comes with virtual dj, but i am currently using this thing with traktor pro 1.2.6. i downloaded a mapping from the hercuels website and followed instructions to set it up with traktor, and now it works liek a charm. no lag or delay. and looks nice too. BUT when i put the plate under the cover, when i screwed it all abck in, the clear plating sorta sticks up instead of staying flat. haha well. i am very satisfied with this, and i would suggest this to anyone learning or pro.
