Integrated portable tools to play, mix, and create DJ music.

The Hercules DJ Console MK2 lets you mix on your computer without any other DJ equipment or you can integrate it into your analog equipment. This versatile DJ mixing station has 2 stereo inputs to connect 2 vinyl turntables or CD players and 2 stereo outputs to play your mix or redirect it to an effects processor or external mixer. The Hercules DJ Console MK2 features more precise and more elevated jog wheels to make scratching easy and a split mode to preview your mix in your headphones.

The DJ Console MK2 DJ mixer also retains the features that made the original DJ Console a success: a dual-deck mixer, a soundcard dedicated to DJing, a microphone input with a talk-over function, and a headphone output for previewing songs. Plus it remains compact and highly portable with power provided by your PC's USB port and included shoulder strap and detachable cover.

The Hercules DJ Console MK2 comes with VirtualDJ 3 software, which works with the console to give you total control of your music, with a highly precise instant BPM counter, as well as effects to transform, filter, and loop audio files to give your music mixes personality.

Many different types of mixing are possible with the DJ Console MK2: digital mixing of audio files on the MK2's jog wheels, mixing an audio file on a PC together with an analog source from the audio inputs, mixing 2 tracks directly in the DJ Console Mk2 or keeping them separate to mix them once they have been output from the console on an external mixer, and more.

  • Take the Good with the Bad

As reviewed by Charlie on 11/16/2007

If you're a club DJ or interested in "serious" scratching and mixing, this is NOT the unit for you. I have been a mobile DJ for 14 years and perform mostly weddings and corporate functions. This is a staple in my equipment. The BAD: The jog wheel does get bumped and makes the track skip due to its awkward placement on the board. It is made of plastic and "feels" like it would break just by looking at it. The included Virtual DJ software (special version) can ONLY be used with THIS device when it's plugged into your computer's USB port, & won't even open without it. The auto BPM is rarely accurate and if you catalog your MP3s in individual artist folders, the search option only finds songs in the folder you have highlighted. In other words, you have to click on the specific folder to find a song (as opposed to searching your entire catalog from the search bar.) A pain when you have over 50,000 songs in 300 folders. The GOOD: The features on this board are very user friendly. I also own the PCDJ with the DAC-3 controller and the AUDIOKONTROL-1 by Native Instruments. The Virtual DJ gives you more effects and more control over your music including backspin, reverse, flanger, etc. You can disable the jog wheel from "scratching" in the CONFIG screen. Even though it's plastic, I have used it for over 2 years and it's still going strong (although, I did lose a knob.) The auto BPM can be overridden by a manual BPM setting where you set the anchor points and adjust the BPM yourself (works pretty well, but it's kind of a pain!) And you can put all your songs into one general music folder to improve search capabilities. And don't forget it's 1/2 the price of Serrato. Bottom line, it's a great entry-level piece of equipment for "basic" parties and a lot of fun to use! I swear by it!

  • Been Using it Since 2007

As reviewed by LP on 4/25/2011

Man , i have been using this since 2007 (time to upgrade i know) this unit is great, I learned with this unit the basic skills of Deejaying, after so many years of use minor things are failing, like a loose knob that I super glued back on and twiching on the fader on the computer screen which I fixed by putting a piece of duck tape in between. all in all I have to say this is a build to last strong piece of equipment, don't let the plastic looks fool you. I currently use to Dejay in a Night Club and when people hear how I play they swear I have a $$$ equipment.

  • Great Product

As reviewed by Nik on 2/8/2008

Its great for the money, you really cant beat it. I have used it many times at parties, and has worked great. The big appeal of it to me at first was that it had vista drivers, because i have tried similar products and they didnt. The other products that i had tried previous to this, could not compete with it. The only down sides i would say would be the jog wheels are way too touchy, is a lock button too much to ask for? Also when scratching it doesnt sound like real vinyl but is close, great product for the novice and intermediate dj.
