Product Information

Dual deck DJ Mixer with integrated audio to play, mix, and create DJ music.

The Hercules DJ Console MK2 lets you mix on your computer without any other equipment or you can integrate it into your analog equipment. This multi-use mixing station has 2 stereo inputs to connect 2 vinyl turntables or CD players and 2 stereo outputs to play your mix or redirect it to an effects processor or external mixer. The DJ Console MK2 features more precise and more elevated jog wheels to make scratching easy and a split mode to preview your mix in your headphones.

The DJ Console Mk2 also retains the features that made the original DJ Console a success: a dual-deck mixer, a soundcard dedicated to DJing, a microphone input with a talk-over function, and a headphone output for previewing songs. Compact and highly portable chassis with power provided by your PC's USB port and included shoulder strap and detachable cover.

The DJ Console MK2 comes with VirtualDJ 3 software, which works with the console to give you total control of your music compositions, with a highly precise instant BPM counter, as well as effects to transform, filter, and loop audio files to give your mixes personality.

Many different types of mixing are possible with the DJ Console MK2: digital mixing of audio files on the MK2's jog wheels, mixing an audio file on a PC together with an analog source from the audio inputs, mixing 2 tracks directly in the DJ Console Mk2 or keeping them separate to mix them once they have been output from the console on an external mixer, and more.

A great control saurface for mixing shows with a PC.

great value

Man, this thing works great for the price, when I first saw it I thought it was a toy, but it?s great for the price! They did a great job placing the many buttons. I recommend this to any beginner dj.

Best Deal for the Money

If you want to mix MP3/WMA files, this is the best deal in town. Mixing was never this easy. With headphone switching and the frequency spectrum window, you can synchronize the beats like pro. My only issue is the jog wheel; it?s too sensitive and close to other knobs. This is great for a beginner DJ or hobbyist.

good starter, but still lacking

The controller is good for someone transitioning from a cd/turntable set up to digital. EQ noisy, but functional. Need a good PC to run (mem/cpu hog). The controls are too close together and jog wheels are easily bumped (as others have said). Mic needs a gain or preamp adjustment. Would not recomend for pro usage. Look for the new M-audio X-session Pro or different controlles. If you enable the timecoded vinyl by upgrading the software (~$299 plus vinyl) you can run it through your own mixer, but would defeat the purpose of a mixer controller. Software is Shoutcast capable, so if you want to broadcast on net, it will work. Overall a great value, even will eq and design issues.

Good Value

I wish you could lock out the jog wheel to prevent accidental bumping. I did not have EQ issues since the combination of the laptop plus the board EQ resolves any issues . The virtual DJ software is average and it takes practice to adjust to their BPM with the crossover . I recommend this unit for those DJ on a budget . My microphone button is slightly tighter than I would like but I corrected this feature on my own . One thing to note is that the included Virtual Software ONLY works with the board attached to the PC . I have PCDJ RED also but the board is not active with other software . it becomes only a pass thru so I use the Virtual Software more often . Not a bad unit for the laptop DJ .

I like the flexibibily

The Hercules mixer / soundcard gives me a chance to be more flexible with my setup. When I do club work and the spacing is not always available. I use the mixer for both the VirtualDJ and Traktor. VirtualDJ does not auto beatmatch very well. overall, I love the mixer and softer. You do need a computer with at least 512 of ram to be fully funtional with no glitches. I would say to use this product for the budget concious DJ.
