Overview

The Heil Sound PR-30 is a professional dynamic microphone designed for applications that require a smooth, flat output from a wide frequency response (40Hz-18kHz). Whether it's commercial broadcast, studio recording, or live sound reinforcement, the PR-30 mic can handle it. A specially designed magnet structure and large, aluminum 1-1/2" low-mass voice coil assembly make this possible. In addition to a carefully wound and placed humbucking coil, the components of the PR-30 are engineered to minimize external noise and provide pure articulation. A unique dual pop screen design ensures that breath blasts never hit the diaphragm directly. The result of all this is a perfect representation of the voice that is virtually unpolluted by external noise.

great mic to compare to the sm7 or re20

By Tyler Jones

from Island Lake, IL

great mic, very clean sound. i would recommend to anyone who doesnt have 350 or 400 for the higher end competition. end fire element and internal shockmount are genius and the construction is flawless, let alone its about half the weight as any other mic in its field. keep it up heil sound!

Great guitar mic!

By Kent

from RI

After years of using a SM57 to record guitar I wanted something with a wider frequency response. I do quite bit of live work so I did not want to buy ribbon and risk damage in a rough environment. I pulled the trigger on the PR30 after a lot of searching and reading of the reviews. This mic does not disappoint. As others have pointed out it is very neutral and provides an accurate representation of what it is put in front of. I have found you need very little eqing with this mic. I will be getting a few more to add to the locker!
