The Heil Sound Classic Pro is a professional dynamic cardioid microphone designed for commercial broadcast, recording, and live sound reinforcement applications. The Classic Pro delivers smooth, flat response over a wide frequency range. Aesthetically, the Classic Pro mic is an exact reproduction of a 1930 broadcast microphone complete with cast-steel base and stainless steel trim.
The Classic Pro achieves its exceptional performance by using a special magnet structure and a 1-1/8" aluminum, low-mass voice coil assembly. Special attention has been paid to the phasing plug assembly, with equally placed ports that sense out of phase audio from behind the source. The result is a very linear cardioid pattern, a reduction of the proximity effect, and smooth articulation across the mic's response range. A sorbothane rubber shockmount-complete with breath blast filter-minimizes handling and breath noise.
The supplied base can be removed so the mic can be suspended from the Heil PL-2 Proline balanced broadcast boom (sold separately). The cast-aluminum name flag has 2 sides, allowing 2 sets of call letters.
