These are decent ones for the money, comfortable, even if quite noticeable on stage. When I used these all I could hear were the mid-ranges mostly. I could hear vocals, guitar, and snare, muffled, but there. Big problem for me was bass was lost completely unless I was only one playing. No ringing or headache at the end of the night, but expect to play bass deaf. (at least that's how it was for me). Although, my wife wears these when she sits in the front of the club or dance floor by the mains and loves them.

A must have for any musician!

By MetalMonsterGuitar

from Illinois

Comments about Hearos High Fidelity Ear Plugs:

I purchased these earplugs today at a local guitar center. I put them in and they fit great, they are comfortable and don't fall out either. The cool thing about these earplugs is the new technology hearos developed, lowering the sound with out losing highs and lows. It does just as is advertises. You can hear everything, yet it's just quieter! Once you damage your hearing there's no way to get it back. Pick up a pair of these and your good to go!

Great Earplugs!

By coolwhip

from Dallas, tx

Comments about Hearos High Fidelity Ear Plugs:

I was purchasing just your regular old foam earplugs from Walmart for a while, but I play electric guitar, and they just filtered out too many of my frequencies. A friend recommended these, and I haven't looked back! They lessen the entire mix, no frequencies more than others. A fantastic product for the gigging musician!

Does what it claims

By Jeff

from California

Comments about Hearos High Fidelity Ear Plugs:

When I am with any of my groups, whether it be my jazz combo or metal group, i am the one doing sound checks (live and the mixing in the studio). In live situations I need to be able to do good sound checks and be able to play on stage, but whenever I had earplugs I needed to take them out, potentially damaging my ear. With Hearos I can keep them in and still hear everything perfectly. Definitely the best earplugs I have used, uncontested.

Great for drummers..not so much sound engineers

By After Hours Sound Productions

from Northern NJ

Comments about Hearos High Fidelity Ear Plugs:

I am a sound engineer who has been in search of hearing protection to reduce ear fatigue by the end of the night. While the hearos do allow a decent audible range of frequencies while reducing the over db range to manageble levels, they don't quite cut it for a sound engineer. As I mix, I need to listen for the slightest amount of feedback, the hearos don't allow for the sensitivity that I need. As for a musician, they can't be beat. The do exactly as they advertise and are actually quite comfortable. In short, if you are a musician, get em', if your a sound engineer....no dice.

They worked

By Bob

from Lakewood, CO

Comments about Hearos High Fidelity Ear Plugs:

Purchased these earplugs and used them at the Tribute to Hendrix concert. Could hear the lead guitars very well with them in. Little rods coming out from them make them easy to adjust for comfort and volume. My ears did not ring after the concert where I could feel blasts of air from the speakers.

EXTREMELY TESTED!!!!!

By Anthony

from Stockton, CA

Comments about Hearos High Fidelity Ear Plugs:

I am a worship drummer that plays about 4 days a week for 4 hours off and on. I use these because I play in a plexi-glass cage and the sound is INTENSE when it's bouncing back at you. This last weekend I went to two concerts in Sacramento. 1) the rock and worship roadshow (without the plugs) and 2)Music as a Weapon 5 (with plugs). After the 1st show my ears were ringing for a little while, but not too intense because the music wasn't as loud as normal. The next night when I went to the 2nd concert (with bands like Korn, Disturbed, Sevendust) I didn't hesitate to take these with me. Over the course of the night, I heard PERFECTLY. Every word the singers said, every note from the bass drums, and ever note the lead guitarist played. Afterward, I had absolutely no ringing or pain. I took them out and my ears were perfect. These are AMAZING!!! And obviously versatile. A MUST HAVE FOR ANYBODY EXPOSED TO LOUD VOLUMES!!!!!

NOT High Fidelity

By John Bercik

from Johns Island, SC

Comments about Hearos High Fidelity Ear Plugs:

I bought these based on the other glowing reviews. These do a GREAT job of dropping all the volume but the upper mids and highs are gone. That is not high fidelity. Very dissapointing. Sit in front of a nice sound system, listen at medium, loud and very loud volume. Notice with the earplugs in that the sound is NOTHING like what you hear at medium volume or loud volume. FAIL.

Amazing clarity while singing from behind the drumkit!!!

By Steve O

from Front Royal, VA.

Comments about Hearos High Fidelity Ear Plugs:

I sing lead in a Classic/Southern Rock band and I bought these to see if they lived up to the hype. I am not a light drummer and I am the kind of drummer that is told to play softer. Problem is I am not usually miked because I play heavy and the problem with monitors is I can't hear them. I have learned to sing on key without hearing myself through th monitors but the downside is I have to really straing to hear myself over the drums and bass and guitar amps that are usually at my sides. We had a back to back gig last weekend (22-23 Feb 2013) and my kit was in the far rear corner of the rectangular stage. Both the bass and rhythm guitar amps were at my 10 and 2 o'clock and the walls behind me directed the sound waves back off the walls and at my ears. When we started playing the first set with these ear plugs in I almost forgot how to sing because I could actually HEAR my voice over the music for the first time. It was as if I was listening to us play through headphones with the volume turned down. I could actually hear the differences in the instruments instead of a wall of noise. Not only did it improve my endurance because I didn't have to strain my voice, I also developed a ton of vocal and breath control because I could actually hear the nuances in my voices over the music. This in turn led to more energy reserves to play the drums. Suddenly all my energy levels went up and my playing actually was quieter because all the sound levels were equalized. I was shocked!!! After playing drums since 1976 (Yes I am that old) this is the FIRST time I have been able to hear everything equally well, including the rhythm guitar while the lead guitarist was soloing. INCREDIBLE!!! I can't say enough about how well these work and the payoff at the end of the night was when I took them out. The conversations from the crowd were more deafining then when I had the earplugs in and was playing! I had to put them back in until the crowd started thinning out during breakdown. The drive home was so quiet I just put on the local news channel and enjoyed the ride home without any ringing or pain in my ears at the end of the night. I plan on buying a pair for my son who plays rhythm guitar in my other band that I play guitar in. If you don't own a pair I highly recommend that you pick them up. They are worth every penny and your ears will thank you when you get old like me. :-)

Filters I can't do without

By RipThorn

from WA

Comments about Hearos High Fidelity Ear Plugs:

I bought these filters a year ago and have used them for all practices with my band. They are soft and comfortable and fit in the ear well without much effort. They reduce the music without discoloration, it's as if someone just took a volume knob and turned everything down. It's interesting that it is easy to hear vocals over all the music with these in, even at high volumes. If you don't play with ear plugs, I would suggest these because you don't miss anything except for the pain and ringing in your ears after playing even at outrageous volumes.

the most beautiful product ever invented... (besides the marching snare)

By lildrummergrl

from Somewhere, America

Comments about Hearos High Fidelity Ear Plugs:

I play drumset and have recently began playing snare on a drumline. These are absolutely amazing. Before, I had been using these noise cancellation headphones that totally threw off the balance, looked stupid, and did not do a good job lowering the volume. All in all, the headphones were not saving my precious hearing. Then I decided to check out these ear plugs, and life just found new meaning. I was practicing in my yard and every note I played sounded crisp and articulate. My neighbor was mowing his lawn and instead of an earsplitting roar, there was a soft purr being emitted by his mower. If you've ever played a marching snare, it's painful to the ear without some protection. Before these ear plugs, after every stroke I could feel my ear drums splitting in two. Now that I have these HEAROS, I can practice by myself and with the band for hours without that annoying ringing in my ears. I <3 these.

The Best Around, But Not Quite Perfect

By Cory

from Houston, TX

Comments about Hearos High Fidelity Ear Plugs:

I bought a few sets of these for my bandmates for while we practice. Far and away, these have been the most functional earplugs we've ever used. You block out the damaging excesses, but you're still able to hear everything really clearly. I stood right next to our drummer's symbols while he was hammering away with no problems, able to hear my tiny practice amp through it all quite clearly. On top of all these, you can wash them and re-use them for a really long time. My only qualm is the fit can be a little uncomfortable. Our guitarist has especially sensitive ears, so I may try getting him the Long-Term set instead. But that's minor issue at worst.

Comments about Hearos High Fidelity Ear Plugs:

got for my bass playuer son who practices in a small rooom with a drummer who hits hard and a guitar player who plays too loud. He came home from his latest practice and told me that they worked well- he could hear everything while playing yet his ears weren't ringing at the end of the day

You Lose Nothing

By Chris P.

from Washington, DC

Comments about Hearos High Fidelity Ear Plugs:

Traditional ear protection devices offer effective reduction in attenuation, but the high end is almost completely wiped out. With Hearos High Fidelity Ear Filters you lose absolutely nothing. It's sounds almost exactly the same just quieter. No frequencies are lost. I highly recommend these.

works great for even concerts

By Marc

from Golden, CO

Comments about Hearos High Fidelity Ear Plugs:

I first tried them out at a Nine Inch Nails concert (row 13) and a FooFighters concert, and they worked great! No annoying buzzing that you get from cheap plugs, I didn't notice any significant volume drop in any frequencies. Not sure how'd they'd work in a superloud environment, but they worked great.

great earplugs

By Eric

from Morgan Hill, CA

Comments about Hearos High Fidelity Ear Plugs:

i bought these ear plugs for after i tried a pair of my band's lead guitarist's. they are absolutely amazing products. they simply lower the sound of everything, while still keeping the highs and lows, just as advertised. i was tired of having my ears ringing after every jam session, and with these earplugs, its not an issue anymore.

Good for listening, Not as much for Performing.

By Kyle Paquin

from Pleasant Hill, CA

Comments about Hearos High Fidelity Ear Plugs:

These plugs fit well and do what they claim(Lowers sound levels without muffling). These are good for singers since they let me hear my band, my guitar, AND my vocals at the same time. However, a drawback for singers is that they loosen in your ears as you sing a bit or move your jaw a lot. I don't recommend them for small or medium sized venues though because even though these things really work, only 12 db of blockage still leaves your ears rigging at the end of the night. Normal cheap foam ones usually work fine, they are usually rated at around 20-25 db blockage but of course they will muffle the highs and lows. Better than foam and custom ones cost lots of $$$. These are a good in-between.
