The Hartman Electronics 8va Octave Fuzz Pedal is a meticulous recreation of the Tycobrahe Octavia, a one-octave-up analog fuzz guitar pedal, with modern true-bypass switching and additional controls for greater tonal flexibility. The Trim control serves as a surrogate tone control. It engages only when the Octave mode is engaged via the second foot switch, rolling off highs, and evoking a better octave effect.
With the octave-mode switched off, the 8va turns into a Silicon fuzz with great response to player dynamics and guitar controls. In addition to its blooming octaves and classic Band of Gypsies tones, the 8va can deliver unusual sonic artifacts similar to ring-modulators and 4-quadrant multiplier stages of old analog synthesizers. Users can create new electronic and percussive effects with the overtones of musical intervals that they play.
