so i bought them new when they first came out. been using them for live sound, mackie 1604vlz board to a driverack 260 then a plx3602. sound has steadily degraded over the past 4 months, and starting to get a crackling. also dust covers are starting to come unglued. had to re cap. cheap glue was used from the factory. after picking them apart looks like the cheap components on the crossover boards are failing, producing slight crackling when approaching 80% or more rated wattage. after 3 years, i would say buying the jbls would make more sense in hindsight because they will outlast them for the money. plus, i bought these at the introductory price of like $350 a piece, and at $400 a piece they just arent worth it for only 3 years of service. ive gigged harder than most, minimum of 275 4 to 6 hour sessions at no less than 75% power. either go with the peaveys and save some money, or spend a little more for the jbl's and theyll last you years longer without issues.

I think I'll buy 2 more!

Comments about Harbinger HX152 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

I heared these in the store next to similar JBL's. After comparing, the JBL's sounded like they had wet blankets in front of them. I used them for a small live band PA and pushed some hard rock through them. They sounded great. For the amount of sound I was pushing, I think I would do better to have 4 instead of just two, so here I go again.

BEST SOUND FOR THE MONEY

By HIGH VOLTAGE ENTERTAINMENT

Comments about Harbinger HX152 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

compared to anything in their price range, these things are light years ahead of anything else. i run them with a qsc plx3602 and a bbe 482 sonic maximizer. PERFECT sound. no EQ-ing necessary. throw em up, turn em on, forget it. they are great outdoors. i keep the amp to 3/4 on the gains, using a stanton rm506 i get virtually NO noise. ive pushed them as hard as they can go with this amp, and trust me they will blow your socks off. 6 months of mobile gigging and not a problem sonically. only complaint - cheap rubber feet at the front rip off pretty quick. otherwise - BUY THESE BEFORE ANY OTHERS. perfect wattage requirements, voice, spl's for mobile rig.

Harbinger HX152

Comments about Harbinger HX152 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

I think I bought the first pair in AZ. I used them for an acoustic gig, then a large outdoor gig. They performed beyond my expectations. Powered by a QSC 1804 @ 900 watts per side. During the in store test, they blew away the JBL's for clarity. Better mids and highs. Thanks Tempe GC!

Comments about Harbinger HX152 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

I intentionally went in to Guitar Center wanting 2 Jbl passives with a large amp.. After hearing the quality sound of the harbingers, I quickly turned my back on JBL. I love JBL's but comparing quality and pricing.. You can't go wrong with a pair of these Harbingers with a great amp!! Got all the bang for every buck! Well worth it!! I've rocked outdoor gigs with large crowds and indoor!! (indoor gigs with these speaks and you're talkin seismic shifting of the walls!! Great Buy DJ franky-kNuckles

Comments about Harbinger HX152 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

I bought a pair of these because we double booked . brought them home and played with them and was impressed right away. took them out on the first job and I hate to say it but they blew my JBL's away Right after then beat them up and stomped on them. I played stuff from the 50's to now that night and they performed Beyond excellent. Great lows and crisp highs.

Great Sound for very little cash...

By John

from arroyo grande, ca

Comments about Harbinger HX152 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

Well made construction and very clear uncolored sound. The horns are so efficient that you need to EQ carefully. I use in a small studio and they are in need of a little HP filtering due to this. From a normal show distance should be fine and not noticed. They will vibrate other objects so watch what you have close by! Enjoy!

Better Than Expected

By Chris Bailey

from Independence Missouri

Comments about Harbinger HX152 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

I've never used Harbinger before and was in the market for a new set of speakers that were light enough to be portable, but powerful enough to do the job. We fill a 600 seat auditorium with sound every Sunday morning for our church with only two of these speakers run by a Behringer EP2500. Not only do they sound great, but they can handle a full band with headroom to spare. I looked at JBL and Peavey, but for the money, and the clarity of sound I demand, we chose Harbinger!

Great price, Great Sound

By Jeremy Werner

from Grand Ledge, MI

Comments about Harbinger HX152 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

I was dead set on JBL's. The salesperson asked me to just listen to the Harbingers. I was stunned. They sounded 10 times better for 1/2 price. I do have one complaint.. I can't get the Harbinger people to return emails. They don't have a phone number on thier website. I am in need of replacement parts (blown tweeter)and can not get a response. I don't want to send the whole speaker to California from Michigan. All I want is the tweeter diaphram. I now own 5 speakers total so I can have a spare. Great sound, big punch, great price. Also, they travel great..... They have casters built in the back so you just wheel them away when you are done.

Great Sounding Speakers until NOW!

By Jimmy Saucedo

from Austin, Tx.

Comments about Harbinger HX152 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

I own a pair of these great sounding speakers but have ran into a PROBLEM with Customer Service. (There is NONE)! After 6-7 months of owning these, both of my horns are out and NO RESPONSE from anyone at Harbinger support/customer service links found on their page. They are supposedly owned by another company?? You better have a "back-up plan" if these are your only speakers in your DJ or band rig. -jz Buda, Tx.

So Far so Good

By Digital Funk

Comments about Harbinger HX152 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

I bought two of these plus the subs to go with them and have been using them for a month now and have had no problems. I have a 2000w qsc amp running these and a peavy cs 800 on the subs and they sound great for the money. I compared them to the evs and the peavys and the jbls and have to say these sounded so much better. I use this set up for a small club Djing and run them for 5 hours non stop. They are loud and clear with plenty of bottom end with the subs. Im very pleased with them.

Comments about Harbinger HX152 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

well its been almost two years to the day and over 200 gigs later. the carpets torn up, the wheels are all chewed up, and these things still sound exactly the same! im going to add a second set now. ive been running them the past year or so with a qsc plx3602. 33hz filters on in stereo and the only complaint is one of the lf 15" dust caps tore open so i superglued it back shut. it didnt buzz or flap though. great speakers for the money.

HX 152

By Jay

from Fredericksburg, VA

Comments about Harbinger HX152 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

I purchased the HX 152s and was very impressed with the sound quality, however, after using them for the second time the horns in both speakers went out during a outdoor gig. I had you use my Yamaha BR 15s for my midrange for the rest of the day and they did fine. I used a QSC 5050 and only had the volume half way and lowered it after the first horn failed but the second horn still went out. I spoke to a tech at Guitar Center to make sure the amp was not too much and he agreed it should have handled it. I would like to get another pair but now I don't trust them. If only one horn went out I would say it was just a defect. Very disappointed because they sound really good for the price but I need to be sure they can last during a gig.

Not Bad Quality, but a little to be desired.

By Hazy

from Denver Colorado

Comments about Harbinger HX152 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

These speakers look good out of the box, but right away you notice they are lightweight. I then thumped on the side of the box and it was weak feeling. I plugged them in and listened to some House music with a beat and the cabinet was shaking apart. It appears as if the bracing was not working and the back panel was loose. I bought these second hand so I couldnt return them. I then took the woofers out and put 2x4 bracing in the rear corners. This took some time and a shop but now they hit way solid! the boxes are bulletproof and sound way better!!!!! I also tightened every screw and replaced stripped ones. All around I will look for these used because the sound is good. Not great because they really dont pump lows. Thats what a subwoofer is for . I would have given them 3 stars but they do sound good in the midrange-high for the price.
