For someone who is not impressed very easily these Harbinger APS 15" Speakers sure made me smile big! Allways more power and volume, clean sound, durable and rugged construction, reasonably priced, I honestly can't find one thing wrong with them. When I want quality sparing no expsense to get what I want, I got what I wanted for so little. Harbinger being new to the market did it right the first time. Would do it again,

Really.... I can't believe the "over-rated " reviews on this speaker. I read them, trusted them and purchased the speaker. That was a mistake. I have been a working vocalist/musician for many years, and I am conctantly trying to decrease the load and increase the results. I thought a powered speaker would be the most sensible way to go. Also, keep in mind....I bought this on sale for $149 which seemed like a great deal. The speaker looks great, and appears to be solidly constructed, but the sound in general is very "hollow". I believe this to be due to the design and materials, but I can tell you that EV no amount of EQing was going to change that. EV, JBL, Mackie, speakers of a similar design don't sound like that. They sound great. The amp/speaker is only rated at 200 watts. I was only using a sing;e mic input for a rehearsal. It didn't take much at all to light up the "clip" indicater and generate distortion. There was no way I was going to get the output volume that I needed for even a relatively quiet band practice. Maybe the speaker is much more suited to a direct line input, but if you are send ing voclas thru it, let alone keys or an electric acoucic guitar it's not going to deliver. I know what I am doing when it comes to live sound, and I "baby" my equipment. Trust me when I say..."This one doesn't cut it...not even at $149"!! Spend a few more bucks and get a better powered speaker, or go with a powered mixer and a better passive speaker. If you still think you want to buy this item, try to thoroughly demo it at the store and save yourself the trip and hassle of returning it. You'll thank me for this honest and acurate review.

These APS15 Rocks

By DJ LocoLowe

from West Linn, OR.

Comments about Harbinger APS15 15" Powered PA Speaker:

Purchased a pair of these APS15 as positive feedback had me convinced. Used these for small to medium DJ venues and the sound quality, performance, and build so far has been exceptional. Big sound at a fraction of the price. Seriously, these rock. You won't be sorry.

Quality Sound for a fraction of JBL

By Tim

from Trinity, FL.

Comments about Harbinger APS15 15" Powered PA Speaker:

I actually traded in my JBL Eons for these. Crystal Clear sound and deep bass which was surprising for a speaker in this price range. I'll be using these for my next gig, but so far as I tested them out in my garage I had the volume on 2 and my neighbors on the next block heard them. The cabinet is pretty solid with a nice durable design. These speakers actually have a bold look to them which I can't say the same for others like Behringer or even the eons. So if you need a quality set of speakers, you can't beat these. I would recommend these to anyone.

BEST for the price, GREAT anyway!!!

By Ian

Comments about Harbinger APS15 15" Powered PA Speaker:

Yea, these are nice. Really nice. I got two of them in a package along with a mixer and a couple mics. I'm not sure that i like the mics, but the mixer and these speakers are GREAT!! Great low end, nice clear highs. They are heavy and well built, and they look pretty good. The 5-band EQ is a great feature, EQ this speaker right and it will serve you very well!! I believe the amps clip light does come on a little early, but be careful. This cab is loud, but not VERY loud. Thats my only complaint, but hey, for the price, who cares! Just add two more and youre set! Overall a great cab for the price, plenty of low end punch and crystal clear sound. Get some!!

Solved my problem.

By DJ Jeff

from Greenville, SC

Comments about Harbinger APS15 15" Powered PA Speaker:

I purchased this speaker to try and resolve an issue with a regular venue of mine. The venue has very high ceilings and the walls above 8 feet are stone. I was getting tremendous reflection and echoing with my passive speakers no matter how I adjusted the position or equalization. A fellow DJ suggested going with large powered speakers like his Yamaha MSR400's as he wasn't getting these problems with his rig. Wow, the power, clarity, and penetration of these speakers solved the acoustic issues. I was amazed when several people who complained of the sound quality previously came up and asked me to play louder!

No complaints here

Comments about Harbinger APS15 15" Powered PA Speaker:

Bought these for at home practice jams with my garage band. Wasn't looking to drop big bucks on name-brand gear but didn't want bottom of the barrel either. These speakers did not disappoint. Clear sound across the spectrum with headroom to spare. Easily carries vocals over drums and two guitars. Eventually ran e-drums through the mixer with great results. ability to EQ is great. The price is a steal.

Excellent Speaker

By Dan

from New Jersey

Comments about Harbinger APS15 15" Powered PA Speaker:

My band needed to beef up our current monitor and Pa system; and it did the trick beautifully. It has plenty of volume, sparkling highs and deep punchy lows. The built in amp does an excellent job. The speaker has a 5 band EQ to dial in the sound you want.

Sound seems good, cabinet fragile

By eddycurrents

from Richmond VA

Comments about Harbinger APS15 15" Powered PA Speaker:

I had them shipped to my nearest store and they arrived in less than a week. When I got them home and unpacked them, one had a broken foot. On closer inspection I saw the cabinets are hard plastic and the feet are molded in with the cabinet. If they break, you are SOL. I guess if you use speaker stands you won't care but I suspect these speakers won't travel well. Mine won't travel, so I'm fine. I ran the busted speaker back to the store and exchanged it. No muss no fuss. Kudos to Guitar Center. I just wanted basic speakers for my garage band and I got some serious sound with these. I wanted the 15" speakers to get some bass and yeah, it does bass. The volume they produce is more than double what I need and the sound is clear. I hooked them up to an MP3 player to check the range and they met my expectations. Excellent choice for a garage studio.

New DJ

By Max

from Overland Park, Kansas

Comments about Harbinger APS15 15" Powered PA Speaker:

I am a DJ that plays small to medium sized gigs. These are my first powered speakers but a buddy of mine has two passive JBL's; each 15 inch. It would be a stretch to say that these match his, but they do put out sound that is quite spectacular. He was astonished that I got such sound for less than 1/3 of what he paid for his pair! The clip light does seem to come on a little early, but they still have great sound. I run these with an Eon sub and it is quite a match. The sub adds bass however these could easily hold their own. They are very lightweight for a 15 inch speaker and very easy to use. I would definitely recommend these to a new DJ or someone who wants to add volume and clarity for a cheap price!

Perfect

By Brandon

from Walland Tn

Comments about Harbinger APS15 15" Powered PA Speaker:

I bought two of these speakers and i am nothing but satisfied with them, i have my electronic drums ran through a mixer into these speakers and i am completely satisfied, the clip light comes on just a little early in my opinion but that's not a big issue, the graphic EQ that is installed on the speaker does not do much for the low end but if you already have a mixer that won't be an issue, i would recommend this product to anyone on a tight budget, after returning the HA 80 and picking these up I'd say you get more than what you pay for.
