For someone who is not impressed very easily these Harbinger APS 15" Speakers sure made me smile big! Allways more power and volume, clean sound, durable and rugged construction, reasonably priced, I honestly can't find one thing wrong with them. When I want quality sparing no expsense to get what I want, I got what I wanted for so little. Harbinger being new to the market did it right the first time. Would do it again,

Really.... I can't believe the "over-rated " reviews on this speaker. I read them, trusted them and purchased the speaker. That was a mistake. I have been a working vocalist/musician for many years, and I am conctantly trying to decrease the load and increase the results. I thought a powered speaker would be the most sensible way to go. Also, keep in mind....I bought this on sale for $149 which seemed like a great deal. The speaker looks great, and appears to be solidly constructed, but the sound in general is very "hollow". I believe this to be due to the design and materials, but I can tell you that EV no amount of EQing was going to change that. EV, JBL, Mackie, speakers of a similar design don't sound like that. They sound great. The amp/speaker is only rated at 200 watts. I was only using a sing;e mic input for a rehearsal. It didn't take much at all to light up the "clip" indicater and generate distortion. There was no way I was going to get the output volume that I needed for even a relatively quiet band practice. Maybe the speaker is much more suited to a direct line input, but if you are send ing voclas thru it, let alone keys or an electric acoucic guitar it's not going to deliver. I know what I am doing when it comes to live sound, and I "baby" my equipment. Trust me when I say..."This one doesn't cut it...not even at $149"!! Spend a few more bucks and get a better powered speaker, or go with a powered mixer and a better passive speaker. If you still think you want to buy this item, try to thoroughly demo it at the store and save yourself the trip and hassle of returning it. You'll thank me for this honest and acurate review.

Comments about Harbinger APS15 15" Powered PA Speaker:

It is very large and weighs in at 46 pounds. It has a sturdy handle, but I load it on a cart to move it. There are 2 XLR and 1/4" mic connections and an RCA and XLR instrument/line IN. Line out is XLR and 1/4". Each have separate volume controls and a master volume. The equalizer is a little difficult to use because of its location. It has enough volume to fill a gym, church or auditorium. The sound is very clean, up to about 3/4 volume. At higher volumes it gets a little distortion. It handles reverb and chorus pedals well. I haven't tried any others. It looks and feels road worthy. If it only had push button wheels and hideaway wings. All things considered it is a pretty decent unit. You can't get more power and quality at this price point. I looked and read reviews for a couple of weeks before deciding on the Harbinger 15". Tough, well built, lots of power, good sound, versatile.

Comments about Harbinger APS15 15" Powered PA Speaker:

This most recent purchase is our second pair of these Harbingers. The first pair (w/2 previous reviews) finally, after 5+ yrs of heavy duty use, developed a slight crackle in the horns at higher volumes. So we retired the old ones to home and monitor use and now hoist the new pair onto the stands.

Honestly, I'm not sure the new ones sound quite as full as the old ones. Not sure why. Nor do they feel quite as heavy. Maybe it's just me.

Regardless, if this second pair provides the service we got (and still get) from the original 'Headbangers', we'll be completely satisfied. ESPECIALLY on sale at 100 bux off! DEAL!

Comments about Harbinger APS15 15" Powered PA Speaker:

When one of my band members and the owner of our PA left the band I picked up a pair of these on sale to tide us over. I didn't have great expectations but I figured they would hold us until we could get something else. I was very suprised at the quality of the sound that these units can produce. It does take some tweeking however since with everything set flat the speakers are very bassey, but some adjustments of the Graphic EQ on the speakers and some adjustments at the mixer smoothed them out nicely. They have plenty of power for small to midsize rooms but you will have to push the inputs hard to get the most out of them. We have an outdoor gig coming up so I think we may have to add some more gear, but so far we haven't had any issues. If you are playing at lower volumes I suggest that you drive the inputs hard and turn down the master volume on the speakers to the level you need as these speakers sound better that way. Even at high volume I have not seen the clip indicator come on yet. The built in mixer on the unit is actually quite good. I did a solo gig with one of these and ran my mic and acoustic/electric guitar through it and it sounded great. Does have some issues, but overall I don't think I'll be replacing them anytime soon. 4 Stars. One major issue is the Line IN only supports either XLR or RCA connection not the 1/4" unbalanced in that is basically standard with everyone else. Since my board uses 1/4" I had to rewire one end of my cables with RCA connectors when a simple 1/4" in should have been standard. The other issue is the built in EQ is not consistant and somewhat touchy. You will have to rely on your ears not the position of the sliders to get them balanced. Once you find the sweet spot tape the sliders in place.

Big sound for low wattage speakers. I used the pair I have all of last year on an every weekend basis. They were beat and banged around from place to place and they performed way better then expected. I really didn't think they would last, but their still going strong. Of coarse I use a DRIVERACK PX with them and maybe that has something to do with it. We played some good sized venues and a couple of outdoor festivals and everything went well.

I was uncertain about these speakers; however, after receiving them they are very good. Perfect for acoustical and mic performances. I only added a reverb and chorus pedal to my acoustic, and voila: sounds awesome. I love the extra inputs; they give you some great options for usage. If you're on the fence, like I was, I recommend taking the plunge. I'm glad I did. I would buy more--likely will--when needed.

Comments about Harbinger APS15 15" Powered PA Speaker:

We use the APS 15 PA speaker for the power output for our VOCOPRO Jamcube. There is very low noise and great sound from the APS powered speaker. My Jamcube has inputs for CD/DVD, SD & USB cards, MP3 andCDG but not enough volume output for our auditorium. The APS 15 gives very low noise with more than enough volume for our auditorium.
This is a very good unit for the price.
