Good quality for a Great price.

My system consists of two HX 152's and two HX 118's. The 118s are powered by one Crown XLS 802. I have had these for 8 months now without any problems. They work great and provide good crisp sound. However, if you are looking for serious amounts of bass (night clubs, etc.)you are going to need a little more than two 118s will provide. However, as i said above, these speakers have served me well for gigs of upwards of 600 people.

Good for the money

These subs are a good buy for the money. Just remember that they are rated at 400w rms @ 8 ohms so they need to be driven with an amp that can deliver 400-800 watts into 8 ohms. The crown xls802 can do that, the xls202 (the "cheapest amp that crown makes") does not and will fry your voice coils if you clip your amplifier. Set up your system correctly and these subs will work very well for you.

Absolute best Sub for the money

Don't be fooled by those who power anything with cheap amps. You can blow the best speakers with the wrong amount of power. I started with the QSC 1450 bridged mono and I have good clean power. These subs perform very well and I couldn't be happier with how much they've improved our band's sound. I also use the Harbinger HX152 mains powered by QSC 1450's and run it all with the dbx DriveRack PA. This is a great setup for a reasonable cost.

Cheap for a reason

I was pleased with the sound. This harbinger has a deep, powerful bass response. I was a bit dissapointed with the amount of bass and the the fact that it did not carry for much distance. This problem might be corrected by using two subs instead of only one. After a while, I had probems with the cabinet rattling. After correcting this problem, the very next time I used it, the voice coil fried. I had the sub connected to the lowest power amp crown makes and the sub could not take it. If you want to buy this sub, make sure you buy two and don't push them too hard the sound is ok though.
