NEW REVIEW - Outstanding Speakers!

This is an OUTSTANDING affordable speaker with a JBL equivalent sound. I was actually looking for a cheap set of speakers so that I won't have to rent out my JBL setup. I own 2 of these and have used them at indoor and outdoor venues for over 1 year now. Now I use my JBL setup strictly for renting out. I demo'ed these speakers for a fellow DJ who was playing tunes at a middle school picnic last Summer. To even my surprise, they sounded crisp and clean over 100 yards away on the opposite side of a football field. Even the low end traveled very well. But if you play Hip Hop or Rap, you will want to add a sub woofer that matches your venue to your setup. But then again, you will need to add a sub woofer no matter what PA system you use if you play Hip Hop. The blue clip indicator light comes on far too soon in my opinion. You can get far more volume out of these than the manufactures clip light recommendations state. If you were to do this, I would recommend using a fan to blow cool air on the amplifier heat sinks behind the speaker as they get really hot. In my opinion, Harbinger set the clip levels intentionally low as to prevent users from damaging their hearing or from premature accidental damage. Having said that, I should also say that I use a Compressor/Limiter setup with a 5 channel 3 to 1 compression ratio to prevent the over driving of any frequency range. This also makes my PA setup sound louder than it really is. These speakers are also very well constructed. The built in handles allow you to carry 2 of these at one time making for quick setup and tear down at any venue. The mixer controls are also out off the way so you really don't have to worry about accidentally banging them into something and destroying them. The microphone pre-amplifier in the built in mixer do not have enough gain for a standard hard wired microphone in my opinion. But when using a wireless microphone setup, the gain will not be a problem. Go ahead and buy this speaker even if your intention is to return them for a refund. Then compare them to your existing comparable setup. I can almost guarantee that you will not be returning these and you will sell off your old gear instead. You will not be disappointed!

Perfect!

For someone who is not impressed very easily these Harbinger APS 15" Speakers sure made me smile big! Allways more power and volume, clean sound, durable and rugged construction, reasonably priced, I honestly can't find one thing wrong with them. When I want quality sparing no expsense to get what I want, I got what I wanted for so little. Harbinger being new to the market did it right the first time. Would do it again,

Solved my problem.

I purchased this speaker to try and resolve an issue with a regular venue of mine. The venue has very high ceilings and the walls above 8 feet are stone. I was getting tremendous reflection and echoing with my passive speakers no matter how I adjusted the position or equalization. A fellow DJ suggested going with large powered speakers like his Yamaha MSR400's as he wasn't getting these problems with his rig. Wow, the power, clarity, and penetration of these speakers solved the acoustic issues. I was amazed when several people who complained of the sound quality previously came up and asked me to play louder!

Quality Sound for a fraction of JBL

I actually traded in my JBL Eons for these. Crystal Clear sound and deep bass which was surprising for a speaker in this price range. I'll be using these for my next gig, but so far as I tested them out in my garage I had the volume on 2 and my neighbors on the next block heard them. The cabinet is pretty solid with a nice durable design. These speakers actually have a bold look to them which I can't say the same for others like Behringer or even the eons. So if you need a quality set of speakers, you can't beat these. I would recommend these to anyone.

Excellent Speaker

My band needed to beef up our current monitor and Pa system; and it did the trick beautifully. It has plenty of volume, sparkling highs and deep punchy lows. The built in amp does an excellent job. The speaker has a 5 band EQ to dial in the sound you want.
