  • Great Value

As reviewed by David on 1/28/2010

We were looking for an inexpensive, portable, one-box PA system for school events. This has all the inputs we needed with individual level controls. It's a bit heavy but the built-in handle allows it to be lugged from place to place in our school. The amp is cleaner than I expected at this price. The electronics are very quiet, but not completely "transparent," contributing a very small hum/buzz that is almost never noticeable. The speaker gets nice and loud and works perfectly in our setting, being adequate for a whole-school assembly. There is a five-band equalizer on board which is the only sub-standard item I find. I suspect it was thrown in so that there'd be another "feature." The equalizer's set points poorly match the speaker's acoustics, especially at the 250Hz band. I've used an external equalizer with the speaker and discovered that it can reproduce a far wider range of frequencies than the on-board equalizer can handle. I think you'll do best to leave it alone. All in all, though, a perfect solution to our needs and one I'd recommend to others with similar needs.

  • Great Product!

As reviewed by Fade on 3/28/2010

Just bought one of these as a stand alone booth monitor and couldnt be happpier. Is has a nice clean sound across a large selection of music. Very contollable mid and high range EQ and tight thick bass. This is perfect as a monnitor! I wouldnt compare it to a SRM or EON but then again for the price of the speaker you get close to them. At least a lot closer than you will with any model in this price range. Overall good purchase!

  • USING SINGLE FOR MOSTLY DEE JAYING

As reviewed by DJLeswho on 9/7/2010

I do a lot of Motorcycle outreach Ministry events, I was looking to reduce equipment needs and set up time for basic gigs so I purchased a single APS12 Powered speaker and does a great job. Now can be set up in 10 minutes. Most of the time run a computer interface to the powered speaker which allows me to hook up a mike or can hook up a small mixer. Have had this speaker system since May of 2010 can use this just for PA work when giving presentations, etc. Great system for the price. Don't have to run extra cables, amp, etc. Has 2 mic inputs plus RCA Stereo input. Works great for me for what I need and saves wear and tear on my back plus could put in a trunk of a car. Great for also a one person band. I can leave the back breaking equipment for the bigger gigs Been using in average of 600' X 600' size area parking lots would say a bigger area will need 15' or two of these powered speakers. I am just using one but will be picking up another soon
