Light and Sweet

I owned an XK-2 for a while, which sounded great but broke my back before and after a gig. This thing sounds better and weighs about thirty pounds. GREAT feel, gorgeous, flexible tone, and the Leslie sounds like a Leslie. Just buy it already.

Hammond XK-3

I am amazed by the performance of the Hammond XK-3. The quality of the sound is almost the same as as a Hammond B3. It's portable, not that lightweight, but I love this organ. I used it to play for church when the B3 broke down, and people were amazed and thought that the B3 was fixed. I recommend this instrument. It is a good buy.

The Least with The Most!

If you're into the Hammond sound (and you wouldn't be looking at this review if you weren't) you're going to love the XK-1. This keyboard sounds so amazing and is so versatile, you'll wonder why anyone would want to buy the more expensive model. The presets Hammond builds in give you a wide variety of Hammond sounds to choose from, eveything from Gospel to Rock to a full blown theater organ. I especially like the custom tone wheels. The Voxy sound is really cool. My only complaint is with the owner's manual. Parts of it are hard to understand. Overall, this is a great instrument and absolutely worth the money!

Hammond XK-1 Drawbar Organ

My neighbor is an independent artist, and he owns this keyboard. Although I do not play keyboard, I heard him produce a song and I was amazed. There are so many features that are available in this product. He carries it around when he plays for local bands, and it still has not failed him. Greatly recommended!

Hammond XK-1 Achieves Goal

Hammond-Suzuki set out to create a lighter weight lower cost digital tonewheel organ that sounds great. The XK-1 is a breakthrough product that meets those goals. In addition to using the nine drawbars and onboard effects to achieve authentic B3 sounds, the product has the added bonus of eight additional sounds including three electric pianos, two clavinets, vibes and two synth sounds. The special effects include one of the best digital Leslie effects ever produced. The user can change parameters on items such as percussion and vibrato/chorus to personal tastes. Also, one can model several versions of the B3 from 'clean' to 'noisy' depending on how much vintage leakage and keyclick is preferred. Interfaces include the standard stereo 1/4" outputs, 9-pin Leslie (for the model 21), and 2 midi in/1 midi out. Two accessories are accepted, a footswitch (for Leslie speed) and a volume/expression pedal. These are purchased separately.
