Comments about Hal Leonard Recording Method Book 1 Microphones And Mixers Book and DVD:
This book and series has been the best investment I have made in my home studio. It is written clearly and logically with a well thought out progression of topics, and is very specific and thorough. It teaches basic principles through more advanced concepts and technical aspects of the entire recording process, from microphones to mastering, and everything in between. There are comprehension tests at the end of each chapter, helping to ensure key concepts required to progress with forthcoming information is understood well. All of the books reinforce the teaching of previous books without being unnecessarily repetitious, and each book comes with an outstanding DVD with audio examples that demonstrate specific techniques and applications, as well as video demonstrations that further increase understanding of the principles taught. More than worth the investment, whether a relative newcomer to home recording, or someone who has produced dozens already, this series is an invaluable addition to any home/project studio.
