Comments about Hal Leonard Jazz Builders Jazz Bass (Book/CD):

I love this book, it literally starts you out by making you think and giving you the freedom to create your own bass lines to the backing tracks. Some may view the fact that the book has no TAB a bad thing, but I find refreshing. It doesn't lock you into a particular area of the neck like what I have found happening when using most books with TAB. A true teaching book, not only the "how to" but it encourages you to take what have just been taught and to expand and create your own versions. If this is done you'll learn the neck of your instrument faster which will produce a confidence and familiarity with your bass that you may otherwise not attain.
