Good Reference for Undestanding Tube Amp Basics

By Allan

from Tulsa, OK

Comments about Hal Leonard All About Vacuum Tube Guitar Amplifiers Book:

I purchased this book to learn more about the tube amps that I work with constantly and I love it. A good beginners course in tube amplification that walks you slowly through electrical circuits as found in tube guitar amplifiers. If you have a basic knowledge of what a resistor, capacitor, diode, tube and a transformer are, this book will tie it all together for you. I would highly recommend buying this and giving it a read.

Very Technical

By Lorena

from Cypress,Ca

Comments about Hal Leonard All About Vacuum Tube Guitar Amplifiers Book:

This book is very technical. If you're into building electronics, it would a good book. However if you just want to know more about the workings of amps, it's not a good book. I returned it because it wasn't the information I was looking for. You need some knowledge about the workings of volts and hertz to understand the author.
