The Viking with class.

The Hagstrom Viking Deluxe Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar covers all genres from blues/rock to jazz/fusion and back again. With an arched, flamed maple body, its looks are as sweet as its tone. Two Hagstrom humbuckers, combined with the resonant semi-hollow body, provide plenty of power. And no Hagstrom is complete without their famous, fast-playing neck. The Viking has the patented H-Expander truss rod which provides tension at either end and runs the entire length of the neck. The rigid yet lightweight alloy truss rod allows for very low action and a thin set maple neck.

Another Hagstrom exclusive, the resinator fretboard is an extraordinary, homogeneous wood composite that maintains a strong fundamental harmonic and eliminates wolf tones. It offers the articulate sound of high-quality ebony but with more consistency and durability. Silky smooth, reliable, and fast.

The self-lubricating graphite composite nut is much harder than bone or plastic resulting in more string vibration through the neck. Tuning is also improved and string binding is eliminated by self-lubrication.

A long travel tune-o-matic-style bridge and trapeze tailpiece further increase tone, sustain, and intonation quality. 18:1 gear ratio machine heads ensure fully accurate tuning.

The Viking's high-grade polyester finish is hard, smooth, and more dense than polyurethane, so its guaranteed to look great and provide excellent protection and sonic performance. Case sold separately.

  • This is it!

As an active musician needing to cover a wide range of tones and styles I was looking for a versatile guitar. Coming from the jazz scene I also wanted to get a darker rounder tone. I did extensive research and played a number of guitars. The Hagstrom Viking Deluxe could not be a better fit for my needs and tone preferences. I played a number of nice Gibson 335's other semi-hollowbodies models and came back to the Viking because for what you pay, you get a real similar guitar for a fraction of the price. Nothing in it's price range comes close. Plus it's a head turner. You don't see many Hagstroms out there. Players come up and have to check it out.

This is guitar is everything you need it to be. For the price you can't go wrong.. the look, amazing. No one believed how huge the sound was that i got out of this guitar, nor how much i paid for it. Do yourself a favor. Stop thinking over if you should buy this or not... DO IT. This company is going to blow up in the next few years.... grab one before the price goes through the roof.

  • Most for your money in a semi hollow body guitar

As reviewed by Duane on 12/21/2010

You get a lot for your money when you buy a Viking Deluxe. It is a very fine looking guitar. The finish is very nice. The set neck is very clean. I've seen reviews that say otherwise and had pictures to prove it but my Viking was flawless. The review also noted a bit of a glue mess inside the body. Again, mine was clean. The review I'm referring to was very positive but did point out cosmetic flaws. Mine did not have those problems. It was playable out of the box but it did need a set up. The frets were rough along the edge of the neck. However I've seen Gibson 335's with the same problem and they cost $2,500.00 more. It also needed a neck adjustment. The electronics and tuners were just fine. It sounds great both clean and with distortion played through my Vox and Marshall tube amps. In my opinion it is a much nicer instrument than the Epiphone in looks and sound. It's definitely not as nice as a Gibson but a whole lot less expensive too. If you want a very nice guitar but don't want to spend the money for a Gibson go for the Viking.
