Made for the Hagstrom Swede, Super Swede and Deluxe electric guitars, this hardshell case offers rugged and handsome tweed-like covering. Hagstrom touches include gold highlights, and a padded, plush interior. Fits all versions of the Hagstrom Swede electric guitar.
It should be clearly noted that this case is covered in printed tolex... In the photos (and from a distance, in person) the case looks very convincingly to be covered in tweed fabric. However, the covering is actually tolex with a printed dot pattern (the logo is also printed). Great case with a very sturdy build, cushy handle, nice balance in hand, secure latches (there are five of them), and reasonable lock. The interior is extremely plush and matches the case's overall brown motif. The tolex does have a seam running around the bottom edge of the case, and might be overly prone to peeling ??only time will tell. This is an extremely snug fit for my Hagstrom Swede.
Case is decent but far from the best I've seen/had. Outside cover was not trimmed perfectly so there was some flap-over at points where ends of cover material came together. Inside was very nice. Outside clasps were well-placed. Not a 5 only because of the material-end problem.
I contacted Hagstrom to see which case was recommended to secure my Ultra Swede. This was the case they said was correct for that model. The guitar is slightly smaller than the case, so it can move around when the lid is open. A Les Paul size guitar would fit this perfectly, but the Ultra Swede is slightly smaller than an LP, sized closer to the older Gibson Blues Hawk. But once the lid is locked down, the guitar does not move. It does look retro with the fake tweed covering. This is the best fitting case I have found so far with this guitar, and I tried 3 others.
