  • Pretty good.

As reviewed by Steve on 12/3/2008

First off, this set does cut way down on the noise produced by the kit. The bass and tom mutes work great. However, it's not as quiet as I thought it would be. You cannot put these on your kit and play as hard as you want in your apartment at 2 a.m. Your neighbors WILL be knocking on your door. The hi-hat and ride mutes make the cymbals sound like you're hitting a piece of wood, and not as quiet as I would like, so I don't use those. Striking the crash correctly still produces a fairly loud ring, but that's easy to work around. Overall, a good system. I have two roommates and while they can still hear me play, it's not so loud that it annoys them. Worth it in my book.

  • Good Mutes

As reviewed by Mike X on 6/3/2009

The mutes definitely deaden the drums and cymbals. I use a Tama Iron Cobra double bass pedal, and when I really get it cranking, the mute doesn't muffle the drum very much. But other than the bass drum not being muffled enough, the sound from the other drums and cymbals is very well controlled. I wouldn't recommend these for apartment use since the bass drum isn't silenced more. Perfect for playing with headphones to your music.

  • Definitely Worth the Money

As reviewed by Carter on 12/22/2010

Just got these today and they are fantastic. My instructor had a set of Vic Firth pads, which were okay, but the cymbal mutes were only partial and the toms were exremely muted (I could barely hear them). These, however, are amazing. The high hat and ride mutes wrap the cymbal, which completely deadens the noise (and allows you to hear if you are on beat). In addition, the toms are easier to hear, yet they are muted just enough to keep the noise to a minimum. The kick mute is very intriguing (clamps to the hoop) yet serves its purpose well. If you want to get any mutes, these are the ones to buy.
