Now you can practice ride cymbal patterns anytime of the day or night!

The SoundOff Ride Cymbal Mute emulates true ride stick rebound while exposing the bell surface so that the drummer can practice various cymbal sticking techniques. Ordinarily loud and cutting, the bell is sufficiently muted that neighbors will likely hear only a faint ticking, if anything at all! In fact, the mutes provide an astounding 95% reduction in volume. The HQ SoundOff Ride Mutes are constructed from an ultra-thin material that closely approximates the feel and touch of a stick hitting a cymbal. Immediately, drummers will notice a vast improvement over existing mutes and the makeshift use of towels and blankets. The HQ SoundOff Ride Mutes are a breeze to get up and ready. They install and remove in seconds without disturbing felt washers and wing nuts. Most drummers have experienced the problem of practicing in apartments or late at night. Cymbals can be shrill and penetrating. The HQ SoundOff Ride Mutes will quiet their sound yet retain the feel of cymbals. As a result, they will appeal to a broader spectrum of players.

  • Works very well

As reviewed by Larry Parker on 7/21/2008

From the photos, I thought this was fabric, but it is rubber or rubber-like. This has about a one inch lip on each end that goes under the cymbal edges to hold the mute in place. Once in place, it will not move, which is good. This fits a 20" cymbal perfectly. This item works extremely well. Feel free to hammer your cymbal as hard as you want to using this mute, and your neighbors won't hear it. It takes maybe two seconds to install or remove. Highly recommended.

  • Does a good job, fits like a glove...

As reviewed by kungdrew on 2/5/2009

For a modest price these are a great value, they knock the wind right out of my washy '76 Paiste 2002 black label, nice and lively stick response, and I can still dig in at the edges and feel the cymbal give, so it feels "almost" real. A small price to pay for keeping the neighbors happy, I even leave it on when I put the cymbal in the vault, since my largest one needs protecting I just leave its "glove" on for good measure. Can't go wrong with this one.

  • Finally!!

As reviewed by gerry on 5/21/2008

I have been playing the drums for several years and i live in an apartment. I have been getting a lot of complaints whenever i play on my ride, especially on my chops. so now i can play without disturbing anyone. it is great! and a great thing to use if you don't want to be loud
