  • Not just reduces noise but chop builder

As reviewed by Rac on 8/22/2010

Been using HQ silencers for about two months and have improved my live playing by 75%. The idea is that they are "Non-Responsive" which makes you to work harder at practicing areas that you are weak on (weaker hand, foot coordinates etc.) After using them for about 20 minutes then removing them to play the drums live, I've found incredible improvement playing particular licks and patterns cleaner, with more precision and power. These results attributes to playing the drum kit in live situations - because that should be the goal. So it's not just noise reduction I'm concern about that isn't the issue with me, but more so in how I practice and develop my skills in areas of weakness. Again, practicing on 'non-responsive' surfaces as these will give you the opportunity to develop your weaker areas - areas that are not as obvious to you when playing live drums without rubber silencers. Silencers will allow you to 'hear and feel' where you're are weak and sloppy and encourages you to start tightening it up. So it's not just about noise reduction and happier neighbors, but more so in the areas of working at becoming a cleaner and stronger drummer playing drums in live situations. And that's taken it to the stage. Thank you HQ for a fine and well thought out product. And yes...your bass drum adjustable foam/rubber silencers are great and looks cool! Aloha
