  • A MUST

    I recently bought a Fender 15w Tube Super Reissue and added the GT Gold Series Tubes. It took my tingy amp and brought a full rich and warm tone. I also changed over the preamp tube to a GT Gold Series. Make sure to get the Chinese made and not the Russian if your looking for warmer tones.

    Replaced the stock 6v6 chinese tubes on my tweaker amp and it made a world of difference. Way more low end and very robust/punchy. It has many qualities of a 6L6. For hard rock this tube sounds awesome !

    I put these (low rating, rated "3") in my Weber 5e3 clone after my Tung-Sol reissues pooped out after about 1 year of playing at at bedroom levels, which on a 5e3 is about 1-1/2 out of 12. The tone is "glassy", crisp and clear. I have no experience with 6L6's, so I can't comment on how they compare. Suffice it to say, I'm very pleased in the sound. Haven't gotten into power tube distortion yet, but I have high expectations. My strat has pure Fender tone. My Les Paul and ES-137 are bright without being annoying. I'm hoping the Tung-Sol's went bad due to a bad tube and not a build issue (hand wired). We'll see how the GT's hold up. In the mean time, life is goooood!
