  • Awesome Tubes

As reviewed by Bruce Krohn on 4/2/2009

I was highly skeptical at first about buying these when one of my Soviteks went bad, because I had had a bad experience with Groove tubes 15 years ago. My local music store owner assured me he would stand behind these GT-6L6-GE Gold Series (#7) tubes all he way if I didn't like them or had any issues at all with them. These are not cheap tubes, but I bought them anyway. As usual, I customarily replace all screen resistors before any output tube changes in my old Fender SFTR-UL 135 watt. I biased it correctly and let the tubes burn in 24 hours, then rechecked the bias again and found no drifting. The tubes sounded absolutely beautiful. Truthfully, I hadn't heard that amp sound that good since I bought it new back in 1977. Four gigs and one one concert later, these tubes are still sounding just as great with no noise or problems whatsoever. I highly recommend these to anyone wanting a high quality, dependable set of tubes.

  • These Tubes Rock!!!

As reviewed by Lochnessmonster on 4/30/2009

I put a set of these in my late 70's Fender Vibrolux & they brought my amp back from the dead! They take any thing you can throw at em! They sound great with distortion or clean. Really fun to use natural distortion. Turn amp up above 6 & they go nuts!!

  • not a big fan of groove tubes

As reviewed by Buddy on 9/15/2010

just to start of i have been running Groove Tubes for over 20 years now have good ones and a lot of bad ones. now that is said the 6l6chp suck, most of them suck, i needed a pair of 6l6 tubes for a gig and could not wait to get some jan 6l6 off the internet. so i did not have many options so i pick up a pair of gt6l6 ge. anyway so far these tubes rock big time, i have them in a deluxe reverb with a vibroverb power and output tranny, this amp is real loud anything above 4 and your ears will bleed big time.
