Comments about Gretsch Guitars Root Series G9202 Honey Dipper Special Round-Neck Resonator:

This resonator sounds exactly how I wanted it to. High quality, clear bluegrass sound. She's just loud enough, and for a metal resonator, she's not too heavy! SO BEAUTIFUL! I can't stop looking at her.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars Root Series G9202 Honey Dipper Special Round-Neck Resonator:

I'd been researching my brains out. After one bad purchase prior I found a winner! I was totally blown away by it's appearance when I opened it. I have to give it to Gretsch for sticking to such a quality build. This thing is flawless! No seams, not a scratch, everything is tight & flush. The tailpiece does NOT touch the body, as it shouldn't. It should NOT be touching as so many higher priced ones are right out of the box. It is a solid guitar, hefty but not heavy. The neck is very comfortable up & down. Great fret job. Action was perfect out of the box for finger picking & slide combo playing. For those of you looking around, this really is the one you want. I swore I would try to make it easy for the next person as much as possible after all I've done to get here. I originally chickened out and bought an Wa*****n 360k reso that cost even more. Beautiful in photos. But it was the biggest disappointment I've ever had in a guitar. Total junk, cheaply made toy that sounds like one too. This Gretsch Honey Dipper has restored my faith in an affordable resonator of real quality. You can upgrade the cone later, but the one in it now will not disappoint you at all. The tone is so clear yet sweet and warm, I can't describe it. I wouldn't change anything at the risk of losing that. It has a character you don't typically get from a metal body. Responsive & expressive. Excellent volume. Never a buzz. The sustain is surprisingly better than what I expected also. If I had a complaint it would be that Gretsch does not represent this guitar well enough. The Boxcar and Alligator are like, meh,..you know. But this is a guitar in its own category. Elegant, simple & eye catching. The videos out there DO NOT do this guitar justice AT ALL! It's very disappointing how little attention they've given to this model. Best value out there, can hold its own against ones twice the price, easily. Buy it you won't regret it!
