Comments about Gretsch Guitars G9550 New Yorker Archtop Acoustic Guitar:
I purchased this guitar hoping it would have a nice warm sound to it being that it was an Archtop etc. It sounded "tinny" and felt like it was plastic. Even though its not. I changed out the strings to D'Addario EXP16 lights and it seemed to help out quite a bit. Note: I did not purchase this at GC. Wish I would have for sure. My unit had the optional floating pickup, the G9555 New Yorker Model. It sounds pretty good through the Amp. But acoustically, I'd rather play something else. PLAY BEFORE YOU BUY..... I did not.
