Overview

Reimagining the popular œRex parlor guitars of the ˜40s and ˜50s, the Jim Dandy Flat Top offers a restrained black finish, updating the look while retaining the classic Gretsch acoustic sound. Small-bodied but full of tone and œcut, perfect for both picked and fingerstyle playing, the Jim Dandy Flat Top will be a welcome addition to your guitar collection.

The non-cutaway agathis body creates warm, round tone with a lively response due to the X-braced agathis top, while the topload rosewood bridge with compensated synthetic bone saddle ensures even intonation along the length of the neck. Joining the body at the 12th fret, the 24 scale "C"-shape nato neck bears a comfortable, smooth-playing rosewood fingerboard with vintage-style frets and pearloid dot inlays and contains a dual-action truss rod to compensate for temperature or humidity shifts. A 1950' style Gretsch 3x3 headstock holds vintage style open-gear die-cast tuning machines and proudly bears a vintage Gretsch "T"-roof logo.

Nickel-plated hardware along with screened white body binding and rosette completes the Jim Dandy Flat Top parlor guitar' visual package. Ideal for songwriting, practice or even as a travel guitar, this little wonder is great for beginners or seasoned pros alike. Comfortable to play, and full of woody vintage tone with full-sounding bass, the Jim Dandy will inspire hours of playing joy.

I put a nut riser on and play it as a slide guitar in open G. Sounds very bluesy.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G9520 Jim Dandy Flat Top Acoustic Guitar:

I've been back & forth for decades messing around with a guitar & quitting before I learned enough to
enjoy it! This smaller guitar has made all the difference for me! Love, love it! The second time I picked
it up I didn't put it down for hours....can't say enough.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G9520 Jim Dandy Flat Top Acoustic Guitar:

I am very happy with my Jim Dandy. I got it as a transition from ukulele, and truthfully, I've paid more for some ukes. I primarily play old blues and bottleneck slide, and this is the perfect instrument for me. Thanks!

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G9520 Jim Dandy Flat Top Acoustic Guitar:

Headline says it all, I think I got a lemon. The Frett Buzz on this thing is crazy. I've adjusted the truss rod as much as can be and still buzzing everywhere. My guitar coach looked it over and tried his and at it. It got a little better but the buzzing was still there and in a matter of a few days got worse. I'm thinking about returning it to my local store. I'll use the protection plan to see if there's anything they can do, but if not I'd rather take a refund and try something else. It is a very nice looking guitar, but I can't stand that it buzzes so much. Maybe I got a lemon.
