Comments about Gretsch Guitars G9126-A.C.E. Guitar Acoustic-Electric Ukulele with Gig Bag:

i had to order 3 different units of this instrument to get one that was almost ready to be played out of the box! The first one had a neck as thick as a standard-size classical guitar, but obviously much shorter for this small instrument, coupled with buzzing strings that were not buzzing from the fret action, but were, rather, a mystery buzz, and a big one! Plus the frets stuck out over the side of the neck and had to be shaved down.... So i returned the unit and got another, only to find the same thick neck, sharp fret-ends, and an even worse buzz! So i returned the second one in hopes that a third one would pay for all, and got a unit that only needed the frets shaved down and a new saddle, as the bottom E-string wouldn't play any notes above the 9th fret.... Now, IT's perfect! Well, as perfect as IT can get, anyway.... i love this little axe and i play IT in my shows all the time! Everyone loves IT :-)

Not a guitar Not a uke

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G9126-A.C.E. Guitar Acoustic-Electric Ukulele with Gig Bag:

You can think of this as a tenor uke with two additional bass strings of a guitar with a capo at the fifth fret.

I think it's more guitar than uke because if you just play the 4 treble strings it doesnt sound like it's tenor uke cousin and I done think it's due to the low vs high G string.

It's also not very loud when played unplugged, but a 5 watt tube amp really brings this to life.

It really fills out a uke group with the additional bass strings and you can easily add an alternating bass line which gives a uke group a new dimension as would a baritone uke or a u bass.

As with the Bari or ubass, it fits in with a group of uke visually.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G9126-A.C.E. Guitar Acoustic-Electric Ukulele with Gig Bag:

Love this tiny guitar! I chose this one because it has a solid top, and it amplifies the sound surprisingly well. Bought this for camping/travel, but I find myself playing it all the time just sitting around home. The A tuning isn't as difficult as I had thought, as most songs can be played in this key and give it that ukulele-ish sound. Very well made and just beautiful overall. Can't comment on the electronics as I only use the tuner.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G9126-A.C.E. Guitar Acoustic-Electric Ukulele with Gig Bag:

This is a great instrument. To be able to play guitar chords on an instrument that sounds like a Ukulele. The craftsmanship of this particular instrument is above the norm. It is easy to play and it sounds great!. I just wish they had sent batteries with it when they shipped it, because it sounds great amplified. I couldn't be happier. This is my new favorite guitar...ukulele...Guitarulele? Whatever you call it, I love it.
