JUST STARTING OUT...I MEAN..."COMPLETE NEWBIE". have always been in Love with the Gretsch sound, Big Beatles, Brian Setzer, Cochran, Clapton fan. Bought Gretsch Streamliner semi-hollow in red, Mustang amp, and Gretsch case. All arrived as expected(amp was available in store) and in perfect condition. Staff at Guitar Center Sugarland was extremely helpful. Jaime was especially helpful. Gave me some insight to amp choices, playing tips, and saved me several hundred dollars by educating me on two different models of Gretsch based on how I'd be using them. Am very thankful and totally enjoy learning how to play it now that I have it. WARNING!!! Guitar looks so good you'd think it could play itself....NOPE...You will have to learn how. Much easier on this Streamliner vs. the Acoustic I started on. Thanks for all the help Jaime. PS>have not experienced any of the extra hum or feedback some other reviewers mentioned about the amp. Once I get more comfortable with playing, I'll probably sign up for lessons...which Guitar Center also provides.

Very nice for money. Strong case, soft no scratch lining, for a G5420T with a Levy's leather strap on fits perfect, nice and snug.

Whoever oversees the production line/quality control at wherever my case was made, needs to pay more attention to the process.

I had to cut out spilled/leftover glue (aparently used to put on the fabric). If I left the glue could cause guitar surface scratch. Plus I had to cut out some fabric hairs to get all the glue out. Hardened/dried glue was in a few places through the inside of the case.

The case male/female latches are not lined up so every time I close it I have to exert more than just a bit of pressure (but still a bit more of a slight) shove sideways opposite directions (if you can follow this...) on both halves of the case to align latch locks (male/female to engage). Also I wonder if over time the pressure will cause damage. I thought after awhile it'd work its way to lining up, but after some months of almost daily opening and closing still misalinggned.

I'd still buy one. Perhaps the one "you" buy won't have these two issues. Great case for the money just wish mine didn't have these two issues.

I'd of given it five stars, but only for the latches is reason I give only three stars (even the glue I cut it out and didn't lose any discernible amount of fabric so no problem ... except production even on glueing should be more careful and/or make sure no glue remains when done).

No Suprises

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G6241FT 16" Hollowbody Flat Economy Case:

I have a new 5120 and it works like a champ. No surprises. A little tight, but that's probably because the fur still needs to be broken in. Nice Gretsch logo on the side.

G6241FT 16 Inch Hollow Body Flat Economy Case

By Jim Sollmi

from Farmington

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G6241FT 16" Hollowbody Flat Economy Case:

The case fits the 5120 as advertised. When you look real close you can see why it is referred to as the economy model. The hinges are not the best the covering is passable and the accessory box is OK. But, for the money it is great protection for your prized 5120 or 6120. If you are a pro I would recommend you go with the more expensive case.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G6241FT 16" Hollowbody Flat Economy Case:

The case came with scratches on the top and the seams were all ready separating, so I had two options, take my new guitar home without the case I ordered for it, or buy another one, keep the bad one until the new one comes in, then return one and take the new one. But I am carrying the expense of two cases, until the new one arrives, not very happy about that, you should have given ma a temporary case, and ordered the replacement yoursewlves, I should not have had to buy another one just to get it ordered.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G6241FT 16" Hollowbody Flat Economy Case:

This is a great case for the money. Fits my 5120 perfectly and gives me peace of mind knowing it's protected. Solid outside, plush inside, good storage. I do not do road or stage work so I do not bang cases around. Would take a loaded freezer tipping over to hurt the case and possibly the guitar. Would recommend for us non-professional pickers.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G6241FT 16" Hollowbody Flat Economy Case:

Nice case and fits the guitar perfect. Has nice gray fuzzy padding inside. In my opinion, looks like an acoustic case but looks great. Does have a lock, but has a place on the main latch to where you can add a padlock.

good case for new G5420T, perfect fit, little heavy

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G6241FT 16" Hollowbody Flat Economy Case:

Was searching for a suitable case for my new Gretsch G5420T. My local GC in Tempe/AZ were very helpful in getting out about every case that they had in stock to try. As none of them fitted perfectly, they ordered this Gretsch original G6241FT case. It turned out to be a perfect fit for the guitar, and without putting any considerable pressure/stress on the vibrato-arm (as some other cases would!) I have not yet carried the case+guitar out and around a lot, so I cannot comment on the durability. However I did notice that the case is not very light. Guess it is more important that it's protecting my beautiful guitar, as it does, so I am happy with it. The interior lining is very soft and well-padded, and it does have a separate compartment (with a lid) for accessories. Recommended.
