Comments about Gretsch Guitars G6120DC Chet Atkins Nashville Electric Guitar:

Ok, wow! I bought this guitar sight unseen because nobody around here stocks them. I thought I would try it for 30 days and then return it (wasn't sure I'd like it). There's no way I'll ever part with this one. I have so many great guitars, but this one is definitely the coolest.

Unmatched and unique

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G6120DC Chet Atkins Nashville Electric Guitar:

I play one of these made in the late 60's. Truth be told it's not mine it's my keyboardist, and he inherited it from his late grandpa. I can tell you one thing, I've played a few guitars and nothing even comes close to the pickups in this guy, the tone is crystal clear. I occasionally have a problem with a hum but I think that's more due to old wiring and an improper ground. I can also say that this guitar is OVER DESIGNED. I mean everything on it makes sense but some if it is definitely unnecessary. Like a mute bar? Or how bout the mud switch, which is basically a high frequency roll off. Still... I've actually used the mute bar to get a sitar type sound out of this guitar, quite effectively. And when I am running some high gain fuzz on the high pickup I can use the mud switch and it seems to smooth out the signal in just the right way. OR wait, I forgot about the fake F-holes. Now, it's still a hollow body but they covered up the F-holes to cut back on the feedback, which it actually does. You can still get feedback pretty easily if your going for it but it's about half of what a regular full hollow body would be. Of course the Bigsby IS totally necessary and has become such an integral part of my playing style. I would never stop playing this guitar, it's style and features are unmatched. The only other guitar that I've heard and played that comes close is a Gibson ES-345, but it doesn't quite have the twang this guy does. So basically what I am saying is this guitar is irreplaceable to me.
