Awesome Range of Sound

By Ryan

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G6118 Anniversary:

Probably the best range and sound than any other guitars I have played on. I have played Gibson sg's to les pauls, to fender strats and teles, Prs's to Esp's and this guitar by far blows them out of the water. I cannot praise this guitar enough. Awesome for any kind of music. You can get any sound from this guitar from punk and rockabilly to country, blue grass all the way to soft R and B, you can even crank out the Metal on the lad if you want! I Own it, love it, and will never part with this guitar.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G6118 Anniversary:

My first hollow body guitar was a single anniversary 1963 model. I just acquired a 2004 6118 a month ago in mint condition, and it is every bit on a level with my original USA model, and better in some ways. The playability, sound and build quality are impeccable. I am an official performing artist with Heritage Guitar Inc, Benedetto Guitar, Eastman Guitar, Breedlove Guitar and have a signature Vince Lewis 16 Ralston Guitar as well. With all the wonderful archtops in my collection I am very picky, and only play the best available instruments. This model fits my needs, and is such a thrill and fun guitar to play. The look, sound and feel is a tribute to the original Gretsch founders, and they are to be highly commended for maintaining that high standard with an import instrument.

    My first real guitar

    By David Cleasby

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G6118 Anniversary:

I own a 1964 Gretsch Anniversary, bought used for $ 175 in 1967 by my parents when they realized I was serious about my guitar playing. I still have it and the original hard shell case ( although the case is about had it). I would not part with this guitar for anything. I own 16 other guitars, Strats, SG's, LP, Ric,to name a few and this is still the prize. Sweet tone awesome sustain and feedback when you want to overdrive it. About the only drawback is the bridge set up makes it hard to make intonation adjustments. The finish has held up over the years with no checkering but the trademark green top has faded a little. and there are wear marks on the back of the neck but that is from 48 years of use. I would say it's a keeper!
