Overview

The double-cutaway G5622T-CB Electromatic Center-Block Electric Guitar features "That Great Gretsch Sound" with the "center-block advantage." The interior solid spruce center block running the length of the guitar's 1-¾"-deep thinline-style body makes for a lively "high gain-friendly" tone and delivers greater control over the kind of feedback players want. The three new dual-coil Super HiLo'Tron pickups are voiced to produce a clean, high-end sparkle with robust low-end, low-noise performance, along with versatile pickup switching.

Other premium features include five-ply maple body construction with a bound arched top and back, bound "cat's eye" sound holes and a bound maple neck. The G5622T-CB also has a 12.5"-radius rosewood fingerboard with 21 medium jumbo frets and Neo-Classic "thumbnail" inlays, three-way neck/bridge pickup switching with two-way auxiliary switching (middle pickup on/off), single-ply black pickguard with Gretsch logo, five "G-arrow" control knobs (volume for each pickup, master tone for bridge and middle pickups, master volume), anchored Adjusto-matic bridge and flat-handle Bigsby-licensed B70 vibrato, Grover tuners and knurled strap retainer knobs. Case sold separately.

I really enjoy playing this guitar, it has a very wide range of tone and character. I am a hobbyist when it comes to guitars and I have a little collection going. Saw this guitar across the guitar area when i walked into GC (Oxnard) and knew I had to try it out. Spent a hour or so playing around with it and knew it had to come home with me. That was about a year ago and now it is my go to guitar. I love the variety of sounds i can get with it and the build is pretty solid. I am sure there are better electronic set ups on more expensive models, but this one is great for me - might change out the switches and phono plug eventually (if they wear out). The finish is beautiful and it surprised me that this was made overseas. I prefer American made goods, however I can't afford the higher end Gretsch beauties at this time. This model has even survived nicely with my toddler kids "helping" me play. The main thing always comes down to the sound, and this guitar makes me extremely happy. I would buy another in a heart beat.
I was on the lookout for a nice guitar and I am glad I found this one, it's a keeper!

Had to have the toggle switches rewired, not turning on the proper pickups. Volume pots for bridge and mid pickup are either on or off...no gradual volume. Tone pot changes not noticeable at all. I've had two other Electromatics and had similar issues. A friend just bought this same guitar and having same issues.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5622T Electromatic Center Block Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar:

This is the best sounding clean tone guitar I have ever played. It has much more than a classic Gretsch tone and with the middle pickup engaged it sounds similar to a Strat. I use this mostly for the blues and classic rock . The pickups are VERY LOW output. This guitar is about half as loud as all of my other guitars, some with single coils, some with dual humbuckers. Not a negative, just something to consider This is probably a great thing if you find yourself with too much amp for your bedroom or playroom like bassman or twin reverb or the like. You might be able to actually turn it up past 1 or if you have a vox ac10 , or princeton reverb you can crank it up a little and get a beautiful tone. The downside is If you have an amp like a blues jr or AC 10 and you gig with it and it is just loud enough with a strat or similar, it won't be with this guitar. I have had issues with the toggle switches on this guitar. Sometimes I have to toggle it back and forth to get the pickups engaged so it's something I will need to have looked at. The Bigsby is awesome, stays in tune very well and isn't hypersensitve like the trem on a strat. The tone and playability are as good as it gets in my opinion. This guitar really likes new strings. When your strings are worn this guitar will really let you know it moreso than any other electric I have. Maybe due to the low out[ut pickups? I absoluteley love this guitar. 5 stars except for the toggle issues

I play small venues and this one guitar takes me from beatles to zepplin to jazz and blues . I usually have my new guitars set up , but this played perfect from the minute i pulled off the wall. It took less than hour to know this was leaving with me! Iv'e bought the pro jet as well and had the same good luck. Gretsch makes a solid instrument, for the price and would recomend this model to everyone who plays multiple styles.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5622T Electromatic Center Block Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar:

Fantastic guitar. Kudo's to Guitar Center...guitar and case arrived three days after placing the order as advertised.

Unpacked the G5622T, tuned it up (it wasn't far out of tune out of the box), and plugged it in. Everything was functional and the action is great.. Great sound... the three pickups give it a lot of sound options even with my old Crate amp.

Can't say enough about the Rosa Red color...the pictures don't do it justice.

Couldn't be happier with the purchase.

I bought this guitar after considering a usa fender tele or a lower end les paul. I love the way it sounds plugged in but the way it sounds unpluged is pretty incredible really. The components all seem pretty nice but the tone pots dont really do much and the plug was loose when I got it, that was why the 4 stars. I will replace the tone pots and I leave the pickup volume pots maxed anyway so they dont matter much. The master volume knob is a great thing when I playing in my apartment, it lets me turn it down when the neighbors bang on the walls :)

One mark of a great guitar is when it sounds great unplugged. This guitar sings even without an amp.
The neck is perfect, the hardware is solid and the pickups are great too. They are a little hotter than my other cateye gretsch and I like that. The bigsby is awesome and stays in tune. I also get tons of compliments on the looks of this one. Don't think twice - buy it!
