Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5422TDC Electromatic Hollowbody Guitar:

What a great guitar for the price! Every time it put it back in its stand, 30 minutes later I've grabbed it and start playing again! My bandmate has a Gibson 335 that I've played and I can't say that I enjoy it anymore than my Gretsch G5422TDC. And at 1/4 the cost of the Gibson, my saving account (and wife!) are REALLY happy!

      Amazing Sound

      By Scott

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5422TDC Electromatic Hollowbody Guitar:

Unfortunately lost my guitars ( Strat, Tele, Jackson) in a house fire so this is the first ax I have replaced. Could not be happier with the sound and tone. It's got the prefect amount of twang to it and sounds great through tubes or solid state. Extremely versatile guitar with beautiful craftsmanship.

      quality axe

      By frank jackson

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5422TDC Electromatic Hollowbody Guitar:

I ordered my new G5422TDC from GC and when it arrived at my house and I opened the box It was love at first sight. It is just beautiful and extremely well made. This one seems as nice as any other Gretsch I have owned. the workmanship and looks are outstanding. Right out of the box with a little tuning, it played great. The neck is comfortable and fast. The controls are typical Gretsch and you can dial in many tones to suit your needs. Jazz, rock, country can be found in these black top Filtertrons. Well done Gretsch!!!I have played for 30+ years and have more guitars than I will admit, but this one is very worthy of being on stage and will be.

      Amazing in every way

      By michael miles

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5422TDC Electromatic Hollowbody Guitar:

I got my Gretsch G5422TDC in Walnut May 14,2013. I absolutely love it. It is superior in every way to all other models similar to it. The quality of construction, fit, finish, sound, weight, and neck are far superior to the others, Epiphone Swingster Royale, Ibanez, etc. The blacktop Filtertron pick ups are great, love the Bigsby B60 Tailpiece, and vibrato. I'm very happy with my decision, and the staff at Guitar Center were great. Joy was my salesperson, she is very knowledgeable, highly recommend her and the store, and of course the guitar. Love It, Love It. Now I know why George Harrison and John Lennon, both played Gretsch. I paired mine with a Vox Valvetronix VT80+ 80 Watt 1X12 Combo Amp, and they are the perfect match. I would still like to add the Vox AC30C2X 30 Watt 2X12 in the future. Thank You again Joy and Guitar Center. Mike Males

      My guitar gently weeps.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5422TDC Electromatic Hollowbody Guitar:

George Harrison, was right; this guitar will cry, it will resonate, it will call others to you. It's voice is like the call of a bird on a moonlit lake. The neck is fast and true, you can stop on a dime and give 9 cents change. Blues notes would do Albert, and B.B. King proud. you can Rock and Roll like Chuck Berry, or sling precise melodic riffs in the discipline of Chet Atkins. This is a quality instrument. She has a voice like Strisand and Huston, awsome range and guality. This guitar will take you where ever you have the ability to ask it go. Her only limit is, my Talent. as I get better, "ROXANNE" has the "RED LIGHT" ON and IS "Waiting, Silently For ME". She is not expensive, but she is quality. This baby will look good on your arm too.

Very Nice Guitar for the Price

      By WILL HARRIS

      from Flint, Mi

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5422TDC Electromatic Hollowbody Guitar:

I ordered an Epiphone 345 and waited eight months only to find out they quit making it. I had looked at the Gretsch 5122 and opted for the Epi. I've had this guitar now for a couple of weeks and I have to say the G5422TDC is one very well made and great sounding guitar for the money. Out of the box intonation was great, flawless workmanship I got the transparent red and Im very satisfied with this guitar.

Amazing sound and a great price!

      By VINCENT CAVIN

      from Jacksonville, FL

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5422TDC Electromatic Hollowbody Guitar:

This guitar has a great sound and feel. Intonation was amazing right out of the box. I held out for the release of this guitar and opted to buy it instead of the 5122. I'm glad I did. The extra couple of hundred dollars adds Filtertron pickups, great binding in the F-holes, and new fingerboard inlays. I love this guitar. I paired it u with a fender blues junior and it produces some of the sweetest tone I have ever produced. Because the strings that are sent with the guitar are 11's, I changed them for 10's to suit my playing, which is bluesy with lots of bends. Now it is my go-to guitar for everything. Handles loud distortion fairly well, just have to be a few feet from the amp.
