Overview

Revitalizing the best elements from the past, the G2622T Streamliner Center Block Double Cutaway with Bigsby bursts into the modern music era with updated sound and style. Brash and feedback-resistant, the sleek G2622T is designed for the guitarist who demands more than the mundane from an instrument, more performance, more style and most importantly, more volume while retaining all you expect from a Gretsch.

The secret to the Streamliners sound is two-fold: the BroadTron humbucking pickup and the spruce center block. Specifically designed by the expert engineers at Gretsch for the Streamliner, this high-output pickup spawns robust lows, pristine highs and a throaty midrange for a unique tone that blends well with other instruments in a band context. A lightweight spruce center block runs the length of the body, reinforcing the top while eliminating undesired feedback for volume-friendly performance on rocking stages.

The Streamliners sonic power is harnessed and shaped by the traditional control layoutneck and bridge pickup volume controls, a master tone control, master volume control and three-way pickup switching. A fast-playing 12-radius rosewood fingerboard with elegant pearloid block inlays and 22 medium jumbo frets sits atop the white-bound nato neck with a thin U-shaped profileideal for chord work or fiery riffing. Add some shimmer and expression to your playing with the Bigsby-licensed B70 vibrato tailpiece while the Adjusto-matic bridge with anchored base and synthetic bone nut grant astounding tuning stability and accurate, slip-free intonation.

All the classic eye-catching style youve come to expect from Gretsch is herevintage-style gold control knobs, F holes, elegant two-ply white and black body binding, slick-looking nickel hardware, single-ply black pickguard with Gretsch logo and arched laminated maple construction. Nearly impossible to put down once you pick it up and start playing, G2622T Streamliner Center Block Double Cutaway with Bigsby is an updated version of the authentic sound and classic style that has earned Gretsch accolades since the dawn of rock 'n' roll.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G2622T Streamliner Center Block Double Cutaway with Bigsby:

Saw this guitar at NAMM. Excellent build quality and beautifully finished. The pickup is a little hotter than a Filtertron but still has a Gretsch vibe. Action is set for fast playing. This guitar is not trying to be a 6120. It is a more aggressive guitar aimed at rock and other styles. Great entry point for someone who doesn't own a Gretsch. Compared to Epiphones and Squires in the same price range, this is a steal. Even if they charged another $100, this is well worth it. Buy now before they figure out that the price is too low. I have a Gretsch 6120 already but I am going to buy this guitar!

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G2622T Streamliner Center Block Double Cutaway with Bigsby:

The guitar looks really great. It looks even better than online, although, the tone knobs are not brass or metallic, they are translucent, although it still fools me when I look at it in person from a decent distance. It doesn't sound like a traditional Gretsch, but it has a warm dark yet chimey tone, and has lots of potential for a wide spectrum of sounds. Plays great, came flawlessly.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G2622T Streamliner Center Block Double Cutaway with Bigsby:

I have been very pleased with this Guitar, The craftsmanship, design and finished quality is and sound is great. I found the pickups abit hotter than my old Les Paul which I like.. great sound range..sweet sound to hard rock or metal settings can be a scorcher. Just getting into and love it so far!.. So light too compared to my LP, could play it all day with alot less fatigue.. only issue for me, perhaps due to lack of experience with this ax.. But it is missing upper fret markers causing me to miss some of my landings when jumping around on the fret board. There isn't much room for the pearl inlay within narrow frets, but at least the dots on the edge of the fret board would be nice reference..I suppose a sharpe can address it for now.

        Very nice Semi-Hollow!

        By Wildmann

        from Cocoa Beach, Fl.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G2622T Streamliner Center Block Double Cutaway with Bigsby:

Have 10 or so semi hollow bodies, Gibson, Epi, Gretsch . This 2622 Torino Green, is Nice. Setup was good, out of box. I lowered the bridge some, till some fret buzz, then Raised it till it stopped. Intonation was fair, out of the box, a Tweak or so! I didn't have to adjust the truss rod. neck was straight! Strong P/ups, a nice ax. THEN, I ordered some Traditional Gretsch G-Arrow knobs, and Gretsch 'strap lock' Buttons! Now, The Streamliner matches my other Gretsch guitars. The 2622 is very much like my '71 335 Gibby w/Bigsby! I wish the pups were coil split, Really, just on the neck pup, for my style of playing! But, You can't have Everything for this price. Coil split will be done, later! if I can't live W/O it.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G2622T Streamliner Center Block Double Cutaway with Bigsby:

for my first Gretsch guitar I love it. It's affordable and plays really well. I did have some issues with when purchasing this guitar because two times they gave me the guitar on the shelf and both times it was damaged, but the third time came straight from the factory and it works perfectly.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G2622T Streamliner Center Block Double Cutaway with Bigsby:

I was on facebook a couple of weeks ago and the add for these 2622s were on there. So of course after playing guitar for over 40 years,I needed to take a look.First off I am a Fender strat and tele guy myself. I practice stuff all day long on them and love the fenders.I read the 6 reviews on it and they sounded pretty good.I had never even touched a Gretsch before. I have sort of wanted a hollow body but had heard they can squeal. For the money I thought what heck. The guitar was here in 3 days.Packed in a box no case or gig bag.Packed well thou I took it out looked it over the body was flawless. I ended up with the red.very sharp. The guitar weighs in at 7.2lbs my tele weighs in at 8 lbs. So the guitar is very light. The string action was already set really nice.No fretting out feels nice.
The neck is really nice too.I play it everyday most of the day and 0 complaints. The only thing I regret is not buying a case for it.

        Beautiful guitar

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G2622T Streamliner Center Block Double Cutaway with Bigsby:

Great feel...just arrived today! Looks grest sounds great...great action! Got American made strat, tele, and Les Paul....wanted a hollowbody....can't seem to find a Gretch case for this model. I hear about a gretch case for a larger model, so you have to put a small blanket so it doesn't slide around. I have several cases but I think this gretch is too wide. There should be a case for this model!
