I am sick to death of people saying "this is a Chinese Gretsch... It's not a Les Paul... It's not American made" who cares? If you want to be the guy who has to have a 7000.00 piece and you don't play guitar as your main source of cash flow then you're and idiot. I have 2 Gibby's a few "American Made" Ovations and 1 American Fender and I would take the Pepsi challenge any day of the week with the Gretsch PJ. Yeah the mini-hum aren't the best in the world, but it's an inexpensive guitar and a great platform for modding it out. If you want to do the math.. 500.00 guitar, upgrade the pups, bridge and tuners... another 450.00.. thats 1000.00 TOTAL with tax and shipping charges... still under the cost of a mid range Gibson and it will kick the Gibbys butt. I've gigged it and used it for recording and it doesn't let me down. Look, don't listen to me, try the guitar. Out of the box it plays alright, do some minor adjustments, and a string change and the next thing you'll feel is pure love for it. A great guitar for beginners to professionals. If you're one of those guys hung up on American made guitars and have to have the best name brand stuff then you're probably going to look elsewhere while still trying to learn to play an open G.

This guitar looked great hanging on the wall however; this was the worst crafted guitar I have ever played. The nut was grooved uneven. I could not get the buzz out of the strings. The electronics were extremely inferior. I would not recommend anyone to spend this kind of money on this poorly crafted guitar. Although, I would love and enjoy to own an American Gretsch of the same style but that is way out my price range. In my opinion, you can purchase a mid to upper grade Gibson Les Paul USA something tells me that there is an issue.

Chinese... you sure?

By Richard Rigby

Comments about Gretsch Guitars Electromatic Pro Jet Electric Guitar:

I've had this guitar for about 6 months now and it is just amazing. I am a big fan of the Gretsch Electromatic series. I'm a poor 15 year old that loves to play. haha. and i wanted an axe straight out of the 60's considering i play a lot of older rock and this is by far the best cheap chinese guitar ever. its got classic gretsch sound, very elegant and simplistic, and it can take a beating. I've done shows where it down poored, had this thing drop to the ground because of a bad strap a few times and everthing is great. tuning, sound, finish, playability is just amazing. thanks Gretsch.

Amazing!

Comments about Gretsch Guitars Electromatic Pro Jet Electric Guitar:

For the past few years i have been playing an Ibanez Art100 that i got for $250. I got my Pro jet for a birthday present a few months ago and i am very pleased. the amazing thing about it is that it is made in china, which is a turn off to me(do to the fact that my falling apart ibanez is made in china)but it is holding up like an american gretsch would. its got great tone, very simple but stunning looks, and handles extremely well. if you have been playing for a few years step up and by this rig. you wont be dissapointed.

What the doctor ordered

Comments about Gretsch Guitars Electromatic Pro Jet Electric Guitar:

Incredibly lightweight for its size...beautiful finish (got the black one)...all the electronics work nicely right out of the box (no loose switches or wobbly knobs)...what a great guitar. Loved it the first time I played it in the store and it sounds even better cranked up at home. Makes a great complement to my LP. Other than needing new strings, this baby screams AWESOME!

Great guitar for a great price!

By Rick Waller

from San Bernardino, CA

Comments about Gretsch Guitars Electromatic Pro Jet Electric Guitar:

This is my second Gretsch. I got the black Pro Jet with the B5 Bigsby. Set up was minimal and it plays beautifully. I changed the strings and put Elixir .10s Nanos. It does everything I want it to and more. On the downside, it did not come with a case. I had to be special order one because it does not fit the standard Les Paul case. A great guitar!

Pick this Guitar up

By Mike

from Cleveland

Comments about Gretsch Guitars Electromatic Pro Jet Electric Guitar:

I received my Pro Jet today and all I can say is WOW itۡs a great guitar. The Pro Jet is well built, it has great action and the finish is incredible (I got the silver sparkle) and it has ۡ̏that Gretsch soundۡݕ_ Iۡm currently playing an old supped up Kramer and its not shuttle sounding. I wanted a good all around guitar and the Pro Jet fits the bill nicely. The stock strings sucked so I put on a set of blue steal .09ۡs and it sounds 100% better. Other that the lousy strings this is a great guitar. You get a lot of guitar with out spending a lot of money, itۡs a great value. The only complaint I have is the price of the Gretsch hard shell case. If you are thinking about picking this one up stop thinking and get it! You will not regret it.

Gold top is Blues Womans axe of choice!

By Leesa Miranda Blues Babe

Comments about Gretsch Guitars Electromatic Pro Jet Electric Guitar:

I recently purchased this exact one and was very surprised by the quality and the sound it produced for me. I am a professional and gig several times a month, I play it through a mod'ed fender Blues Deluxe Reissue and this baby screams!! so if you want a quality, great sounding semi-hollow git box, this is it!! its light and it is just a dream to play after I set it up for my style.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars Electromatic Pro Jet Electric Guitar:

this is my second gretsch, and i love this guitar. you need to put new strings on it, and i put a bigsby B3 tremlo on it. its my poor mans duo jet at 1/5th the price... the pickups growl like a devil out of the darkness... and the features are simple, and simple is always more in my book... its just a great guitar at a great price!!!!
