  • CGBG guitar (and I don't mean the bands who played there)

As reviewed by Daniel on 12/4/2014

Features Fully acoustic Arch Top guitar for this price? expectations for a reissue are usually low for me however this guitar has the vintage features and vibe AND all the modern appointments necessary for it to be a modern guitar. quality & reliability very high quality neck is sturdy as are the tuners could use a mute behind the bridge but the ringing kind of adds character look & feel vintage and vibe like nothing on the market feels like a vintage gretsch but you could play it without feeling like you are going to break it.

  • I would LOVE to Review this Guitar

As reviewed by Michael on 8/27/2014

I placed my order on July 11 Since then I have received 4 Backorder Notifications each deferring the Shipment Date on 7/22, 8/3, 8/11 and now 8/26 I have also received 2 "In regards to your order" emails offering to change my order for an 'equivalent' replacement. If I had wanted a different Guitar I would have ORDERED a different guitar. This is beginning to smell significantly like a Bait and Switch attempt deal. The 1 Star is for Guitar Center. Not the Guitar I'm still waiting to receive. I'm ready to seek the same guitar elsewhere and cancel this order. Sending a copy of the Cancellation confirmation to my Credit Card Company so they do not honor the payment in case the guitar ever gets shipped and the cancellation ignored. Shame on you Guitar Center.

  • Very Disappointed in New Yorker

As reviewed by Bill on 3/6/2015

I purchased this guitar hoping it would have a nice warm sound to it being that it was an Archtop etc. It sounded "tinny" and felt like it was plastic. Even though its not. I changed out the strings to D'Addario EXP16 lights and it seemed to help out quite a bit. Note: I did not purchase this at GC. Wish I would have for sure. My unit had the optional floating pickup, the G9555 New Yorker Model. It sounds pretty good through the Amp. But acoustically, I'd rather play something else. PLAY BEFORE YOU BUY..... I did not.
